Just ask Kobe (Colorado) he was as you Yoked as Shaq.

You don’t see players getting busted much though in The NFL.
I’m not going to guess if players are doing as much as back in the day.

I knew a guy that was an UDFA for the saints about 10 years ago. He made it until the final preseason game until he was cut and then signed to the practice squad. He basically was rostered on the PS for like half a season so take that for what it’s worth. Things could have changed as well.

They (rookies) had an entire week talking about the NFL conduct policies and whatnot, and were told there are some unspoken rules with policies. They were actually told directly there is no testing during the offseason until OTAs start approaching (there’s a testing start date). From there there are no random tests (only scheduled) until the start of the season UNLESS you’ve failed a test or missed a scheduled test. Randoms can be conducted at any point during the season, but can only be conducted during scheduled team activities (film study, practice). They do not show up at your house for a sample. One thing I found interesting, he also said that if they try a new supplement that is given to them without being tested and they bring forward before pee testing and they pee hot, the NFL will turn a blind eye, provided whatever is in the urine is also in the supplement. This is only for a select list of supplement types like protein, pre workout and others.

So, if everything he told me was true, it would be very easy to do a PED cycle without failing a test and I wouldn’t be surprised if half the league (or more) were cycling in the offseason. There’s too much money at stake in a short period of time to not try to get an advantage if you can.

If he strangled the girl to the point of a traumatic brain injury, he should be in jail for a good portion of his life, never mind not playing another down in the NFL.

Watch the Broncos still keep him on and the NFL not doing anything other than an obligatory six-game suspension; they don't care about what happens off the field, so long as the player's talented. The court's not going to do shit either; nobody gives a shit about domestic violence, no matter if it's a male or female perp or victim, until it actually devolves into murder.
That's a whole lot of negativity. I wonder what Danny Masterson would think of that statement, just saying.

Very massive difference. In Masterton's case, there was a lot of misconduct from Scientologists outside of the courtroom that led to poisoning the trials, and he had raped other women other than his wife. Even then, he got a hung jury in the third of the three cases.

Most of the time, domestic violence is treated with a slap on the wrist, unless there's extenuating circumstances (i.e., hurting their children or their partner to the point of near death or raping them). It was even worse in, say, the 50s, where it was considered a "family issue" and not criminal behavior; where a man could rape his wife, and it wasn't considered a crime because it was considered "impossible for a man to rape his wife".

Again, whether it's men beating women or women beating men or same sex relationships having a partner beating the other, or if any beat their kids (all of which I condemn with the strongest language I know, including languages that aren't even English), domestic violence is usually treated with a slap on the wrist (rare that charges get filed, rare that bail is set where a person can't pay it and get out, rare that there's actually a conviction that lasts more than a few years), unless, of course, it devolves into one of the partners killing the other.

That's my "whole lot of negativity". Don't believe me? Look no further than James Pearce Jr.'s joke of a "sentence" for beating his girlfriend and trying to run her off the road.

My brother got accused once after she slapped the shit out of him. Cops busted in the front door, gave him the beating of his life BEFORE taking him to jail..The case eventually got thrown out despite being charged with a felony. She called him 7 years later to apologize knowing the statute of limitations ran out. I will never condone dv but damn you sure seem to have only a one viewpoint on this.

I don't condone lying about something that serious either; I didn't say that, and I feel for what your brother went through - again, I don't condone violence when it's a woman beating a man either, and what the woman did to your brother absolutely was domestic violence. I'm just saying that the overall rate of conviction is low (for a myriad of reasons), and that since Cooper's rich, he'll likely skate with no convictions for anything related to that.

That was why I'm being negative about the whole thing.

But we're skating pretty close to stuff that the forum bans, so I'll leave it at that. Again, hope the best for you and your brother, hope he finds a better person for him, if he even wishes.

It also takes a couple of positives tests before it is reported by the NFL.
Or, so Ive been told.

This is the standard. One view point, assumed guilt etc.
Just speaking in general terms, not about this conversation specifically.
Have a co workers son going through this same thing. No violence but a SA accusation.
Nothing happened with it because there were multiple witnesses, including friends of the accuser saying she is lying etc. That she was jealous that this guy has a girlfriend now so she accused him.
Really sinister stuff.
So, police did nothing regarding him other than cause him a few nights of stress and sleeplessness.
But, they didn't have any plans to charge her.....this is the issue with cases like this.

I think where SA/DV accusations made that are demonstrably false and made in bad faith, there should be substantial consequences.

I watched a video recently of a female family law attorney who said she was leaving family law because in her experience as much as 85% of divorces with young children or pregnant spouses also brought accusations that were knowingly false. Much of that is contextual to the jurisdiction, economic climate and a host of other factors, but just like SA/DV is grossly underreported, so are false allegations.

We just saw that crap with Puka.

I think spouses/significant others who hit need severe penalties irrespective of gender or identity. In the same vein, demonstrably false allegations made in bad faith need to be punished harshly.

This is so that ACTUAL victims can be heard and treated with dignity and respect, again, regardless of gender or identity
