As a long-time Villanova fan, I am rooting for the Knicks. Or as some call them around here in Philly, the "Nova Knicks".
Those 3 Nova guys play their ass off and are a great testament to what the program was under Jay Wright.
Too bad college basketball became a joke with the unlimited transfer rules and NIL, which chased many great coaches out of the sport. Coaches like Wright believed in building their programs by developing players, many of which were not highly rated recruits.
For example Josh Hart & Mikal Bridges were just 3 star guys. The same with Donte DiVicenzo (T-Wolves), who wasn't even a top 125 player. Now all 3 are excellent NBA guys. Now these kids play for 4 schools in 5 yrs, so you can't develop a kid to fit your program and develop a culture. Imagine if McVay had to turn over 90% of his roster every year. There would be no "culture" here. Just a bunch of mercenaries.
Okay that's my NCAA rant for the week.
