Prime Gurley >>> Prime SJ

Argue with a toaster. :-)
Well, I disagree with that. My take is they were both equal in every way including speed, ability to catch and run, etc. Except for one thing...power. Steven Jackson was so strong and just ran over and crushed defenders, even more so than Gurley. Because of that difference I'm going Prime SJ >>> Prime Gurley.

Note: A consideration could also be made in durability, that SJ sustained a longer career, but I left this out of consideration as were more focused on player's abilities and performance only.

Prime Faulk >> Prime Dickerson >>>> Prime SJ > Prime Gurley

Why Faulk over Dickerson? Dickerson was a truck, completing dominated many games, and over 2,000 yards in a sixteen game season (having broken the existing record by O.J. in game 15). Doesn't that give a slight edge over Faulk?

It's less about achievements for me, I was just voicing my opinion on who was "better".

With those two it's really splitting hairs on my two favorites, but Faulk's passing game talent and impact was the difference for me. Then when they took that away, he could still plow you over.

I'll still take Dickerson over Faulk, partly because I was an Anaheim season ticket holder and admittedly may be biased having seen Dickerson in person so many times, and he was just a sight to see. I totally agree with you that it's splitting hairs as they both were fantastic running backs.

Ha! I had season tickets at Anaheim too. Good times!

Would have been great if we had Kroenke instead of the stripper.

Very cool. Did you happen to be at the very last Rams game in Anaheim? In the wanning minutes, some fans dropped a huge white banner with gigantic block lettering in black font, that said:

Georgia
Is A
baby door!

I will never forget that moment, and wish to hell I would of snapped a picture of it.

P.S. Why can't we say "baby door" here on this website? You can say baby door on X, etc., but not here?

Give me Faulk. Yes, Dickerson was a better “pure runner” than Faulk, but he could not sniff Faulks jockstrap when I comes to any other skill that runningback could/should perform.

I think a lot of that was coach and system related. If I recall, Dickerson had some pretty decent receiving yards early on, then almost nothing. Hard to say if he could have been more of an all around back if not for the 3 yards and a cloud of dust mentality.

Sucks that the O's let him out of the building. Stupid O's...

I honestly think the Red Sox got the worst of the deal. Rutschman is on the IL with no timetable with his injury, according to the very GM who dealt him, and had a very poor year last year. The Orioles are stupid for not supplementing their young talent with savvy trades, but they did get Boston's top two pitching prospects (including a guy who immediately slides into their #1 prospect ranking), a good nineteen-year-old outfielder already in High-A (and excelling there), an offensive-minded catcher whom they could flip at the Winter Meetings.

In addition, Boston's paying for one-and-a-half (and maybe less, depending on circumstances) seasons of Rutschman; he becomes a free agent after the 2027 season. And with a potential lockout possibly destroying the season, his free agency timer might not be set back to 2028; I don't think that happened with the 1994 lockout, even though it might not be the best comparison.

So they may only have a half of a season with Rutschman, and he's injured and has no timetable for his return, according to the GM who traded him, who could've used physicals to prove he's ready to come back.

It's a shitty trade for the Red Sox and combined with completely giving up on Marcelo Mayer and not getting anything good back for him - and adding that I still think that the two Sox/Cardinals trades are a potential win for the Cardinals, should the younger players pan out - I actually feel bad for Sox fans like @Boston Ram .

LOL, the Rutschman trade will be GREAT for us, he's CLOSE to coming off the IL, already talking extension to be a long-time Red Sock, only Eyanson has a chance to be really good (Witherspoon is proving a head-case already) and "not getting anything good" back for Mayer is a complete falsehood..

Yes, the Red Sox will be raising another World Series banner sometime in the latter half of this Decade.
