I see the Combine as either confirming what I saw on film or as an invitation to assess a guy I haven't or reassess a guy I may have written off too quickly. What you shouldn't do is let the Combine dictate your draft grade on a guy. If you think Sadiq is a top 15 pick based on his play, great. If you didn't see him as worth a top 15 pick, the Combine should at most prompt you to rewatch him. It should, by itself, cause him to make a huge jump. End of the day, football is played on the field in pads.

I haven't assessed Sadiq yet, so I am taking the Combine performance as a reason to watch him.

CB Chris Johnson looks very smooth in the drills and posted a 4.4 40. Very impressive. Could be a target at 29 unless he moves up higher than that. I know some here were touting him weeks ago. The dude looks like a player as his numbers & drills match the tape.
Keep saying it: he's a perfect fit for the Rams. The type of corner I want in this secondary. Tough as hell on the underneath BS out wide. Ball aware, lot of snaps in position with his head right. Sticky in coverage without being all grabby.

He played in the slot, but like 40 percent of his snaps. Nacua is a matchup hunter. I wouldn't put him exclusively at any spot. But you'll need other guys who can also move around if you want to move Nacua. And Mcvay definitely loves moving around his receivers.
Again I expect he is going to own the slot this year. Last year his slot snaps spiked. They're gonna spike again this year as it's his best usage. He's got the size and RAC to excel in that role for McVay so that's what I expect it's gonna be. If you'd like to revisit this and show I'm wrong after the season that's cool, do it. But the allure with wideout is finding that WR3 who can duel with Ferg (hopefully) for snaps. That type of competition would be very valuable.

If that isn't there at 13 then I really hope they take one of the excellent defenders. But of course McVay loves his toys.

Yet my reservations with him is his production wasn't great in big games.
I dislike the Ducks. It's hard to watch them. But it felt like he was a great screen weapon. I should watch his full games, but oh hell on second thought fuck that. :laugh2:

What I'll do is if we draft him I'll go back and watch his stuff. Watching Ferg's Oregon tape last year was painful enough.

At this rate, corners are performing so well that I'm starting not to want one at 13. There's like 6 guys who I think can be #1 on a good team.
Agree. I have been thinking that for awhile now. There will be better value at 29 and 61...even 93 you can likley get a guy who can play.

The difference is that Sadiq is actually a matchup problem, has great speed, and would probably be the best blocking TE on the roster from day one.
Yeah, kind of like Nacua on steroids when it comes to blocking and still being a dynamic receiving threat. Not that he is in Nacua's class at this stage, but if he has a head on his shoulders, his potential is extremely high.

I now see us taking Sadiq. Higbee might retire. Sadiq has that superstar look. He and McVay would change the game!
He was my first draft crush this year and now getting hooked again. Considering Davis Allen & Parkinson will likley be gone after next year TE is a need and he is a freak on top of that. He can play out wide and crush guys in the running game. Like a bigger version of Nacua.
