I don't think they have to designate that now. Just after an alotted amount of time. Seems like they've changed it every years since covid though so not sure what current system is.

Regarding Witherspoon, McVay also said that it was "around a 12-week recovery period"' so that's most of the rest of the season; and further said that ... to address that now-vacant roster spot, they were working through a plan to "bring somebody in" at cornerback from outside the roster.

Figured they might simply elevate A.J. Green or Cam Lampkin from the Practice Squad but it sounds like they may sign a free agent, or sign someone off another team's Practice Squad ... interesting ... I have a boring life.

I'd guess Kendall Fuller who played with McVay in Washington I think.
