DK Metcalf Has Not Heard the Last from the Fan He Punched
Now he's going to have to deal with potential assault charges (because from the video of the fan at first glance, all he did was use the guy's legal first name, no slurs, no provocative language, nothing aside from using Metcalf's government name). All because he was a fucking baby who couldn't keep his temper in check and just had to go over to the stands when he literally should've been on the sidelines with his team.

Even if the fan had been a prick and called him some sort of expletive it does not give him the right to strike him, either. Any of us probably would have been arrested for that type of shit as it is, just for hitting him. He'll probably end up needing to settle just to get rid of the distraction.
He's a very stupid player. Seattle was smart to move his ass. And I think it shows how stupid the Steelers are that they thought he was the type of player they could build around. We knew because we see division games. But if you're gonna consider that trade you need to do your research and it's hard to believe they did that.

Real interesting move there. Not the biggest fan of him coming out, however he's got the size and arm and can run a bit. So what would he look like with a good run game that offense supplies him with.
This better be the year NFL. Or else.
He won't get in. It'll be Fitzgerald, Brees, Manning, Witten, Vinatieri, and one of the linemen. And it'll be a total fucking joke that Holt (and S-Jax, for that matter; at least he isn't a total fucking compiler like Gore is) isn't in, like always.
Not at all excusing an assault but if true that at least provides a little context behind what appeared to be completely unprovoked violence. Idk why he wouldn't have released that information himself sooner...
It doesn't excuse anything. Metcalf should've been where the rest of his team was: on the sidelines, watching his damned team play the game. This assault was not after some touchdown; this was during when his defense was playing, and he had no reason to be anywhere but on the sidelines. I don't care if he's had interactions with the fan before; the fan said nothing but his government name, and Metcalf reacted with violence.
He had no reason to be near the fans (mind you, this was a road game with no Steelers fans even close to where he was, so he absolutely does not have a reason to be near the fans), and if he was so offended, he should've done the right thing and contacted security to at least warn the fan that he'd get kicked out if he did it again, if not outright kick him out. Instead, he reacted with violence for no justifiable reason.
Metcalf played stupid games and won a stupid prize, the suspension is more than deserved, and he proved that he is what all of us thought he was: a giant fucking baby with no control over his emotions.
