The tone here is hard to read but the guy is being serious.

I thought the lane for Dart to be a good QB was pretty slim but it either looks like he's taking that lane at double the speed limit or the lane was far larger than I realized. Will be fun to see him play this season no matter what happens and while I thought starting him early or even this year would be a mistake, I'm now in the camp of just get him out there ASAP and see what happens.

That and a dominate Dline might make this team really interesting.

I honestly haven’t watched much of Dart this preseason but from the small sample size that I’ve seen he seems to be on the right track at least. I would still put Wilson out there at least for the first half of the season because it’s a completely different ball game on the lights come on. Also, there’s no way you can keep Wilson as a back up. You’re gonna have to trade him.

As for Kurt Benkert, I have found that his opinions are mostly dog shit. I mean last year he compared Drake Maye as a more athletic version of Mason Rudolph with less arm talent. Who would ever take that seriously? You could have picked any other quarterback in the NFL and you go with Mason fucking Rudolph.

I’m very curious to see Dart against real NFL defenses. It’s hard to believe that he overcame some of the things he struggled with in college in just one season. Or is Kiffin just a bad coach?

It isn’t likely that he faced any disguised coverages in preseason, nor would he have faced complex blitz packages. Maybe he was hitting his first read in these games. All the reports I’ve seen have been positive on Dart. I was not crazy about the Rams potentially drafting him.

I read on some Vikings forums that McCarthy hasn’t looked too good. I haven’t read anything about Cam Ward.

Either way, the proof is in the pudding.

hahaha, that's pretty funny about Benkert, I do put a lot more stock in Orlovsky and Daniels (though I do think they errr on glazing people up)

I think you're right, they've got some tough defenses I think at the beginning of the season and once you put him out there it's very hard to put the toothpaste back in the bottle and bench him if he needs more time (though it worked with the CAR QB). Still prob best to sit him for half a year (and then what's best for the regime is to start him second half and show some improvement with him to save their jobs).

Yeah, agree I wasn't crazy about him as a prospect but the lane I mentioned about him being good was most likely that he could do a lot of things we couldn't see on tape (cause of that offense) and we just didn't know and occam's razor just said if he could do it he would have done it in college.

Yes, things could get ugly with defenses game planning for him but it actually might not get ugly for about half a season as D's will probably need at least 6 games of him to really start game-planning against him unless he's still just a one read guy.

From what I'm hearing about McCarthy I have an itchy fanny about how the Vikings season will go.

I'm actually hearing some tempered enthusiasm about Ward, at the bare minimum, he's proven to be a first one in last one out guy in the locker room.

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but the Eagles cut Kyle McCord. They will likely try to add him back to their PS if he isn't claimed. I would pitch to him to come to our PS. Can't hurt to see what he can do here. He was trash in the preseason for the Eagles. Didn't play well.

They acquired Sam Howell to be the backup. It sounds like McCord has a long ways to go.

McCord was #4... McKee is out a few weeks so they brought Howell in to be the immediate back up. They couldn't have McCord be the back up for a few weeks. They will bring him back on the PS if they can.

I wonder if they'd bring back Dorian Thompson Robinson over McCord for the PS?

That statement about Wolford is SO Fucking miss-leading ...

That was the 2020 Wild Card Game in Seattle where Wolford did start but was knocked-out of the game in the first quarter. Because he started and the Rams won, Wolford technically is GIVEN credit for the win.

Goff had a thumb injury (believe he had surgery) just two weeks earlier, came-in and played well. Akers had a big game. The Defense was strong. Some guy named Donald had a huge game.
