Not really.. I don’t think any of them move the needle and I’d hate to see the Rams sign someone for the sake of signing someone……and at a big cost.
They seem like they'd be short term, cost effective options. I don't think we can go into the season with Puka, Whittington, and 4 rookies. Unfortunately it looks like the top of the receiving group is going to dry up quickly.
I have to believe they have the groundwork on a long term deal worked out and would sign him without needing the tag
I hope so but I'm starting to get a bad feeling. Sometimes they make head scratching decisions.
The most head scratching decision last year was letting Reeder start the first 5 games last year.
What level is a transition tag? Top 10? I really don't know.
Transition tag is top 10 or a 20% raise whichever is greater. It also comes with the right to match sm offer but no draft compensation if the team doesn't.
Would you do Transition tag? That doesn't seem like a huge price increase for one year.
I prefer the Rams draft their weapons. Though Diggs is interesting because the Rams have not shown a good eye for the X role in the draft, so he'd upgrade them there and as far as weapons in the draft are concerned slot would remain the top need and there are good options for them to choose from in just about every round, certainly the first three or four.
Possibly, I'd have to look at the numbers, but if they want him I'd rather they get him signed now though that's unlikely. His agent will push to test the free agent market unless the Rams wow him with an offer IMO.
