And it really shows how bad Trey Lance is, I wonder if he'll even get a practice squad gig
I read that he may be headed to the CFL. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are negotiating a contract with him.

Lance is yet another example of why game film and on field production outweighs physical metrics.

Damn, decent trade for the Cowboys. Idk if Milton is going to be as good as everyone makes him out to be but he certainly has potential and gives Cowboys some hope. Cowboys are stuck with Prescott for 2025 at least but after that they could dump him if they really wanted to. Of course, Jerry Jones will piss away the opportunity some how but hey... got to give him kudos for this move I guess.

That’s a worthwhile trade just for a capable backup imo. If he becomes more than that it’s just icing on the cake.

Cowboys are married to Dak for at least 2025 & 2026
2025 Dead Cap $180 mill
2026 Dead Cap $130 mill
2027 is at least a manageable 56 mill dead cap hit

Interesting to see Milton to cowboys… there was rumors a bit ago of dak getting traded away (to maybe browns?) even though financially it made no sense. I wonder if that talk sparks up again.

I mean, we have Milton's OC on our staff so it's obvious we didn't see him as "special" or we prob would have made a play (unless that price was too much).

Most likely, Rams will wait for draft next year to take a swing at QB, possibly this year. One name that I'd consider but think it's a long shot to get anything out of him, is once Tenn picks Ward, possibly getting Levis for a day 3 pick. Kid makes boneheaded plays all the time and not sure you can beat that out of him but maybe having him sit for awhile in a system he thrived in in college could help.

McVay doesn't like boneheaded mistakes ala Goff though and tends to ride QBs hard so prob not a fit.

Wasn't someone on here talking about trading a 3rd for this guy? Knew he wouldn't fetch that much. Doubt they had a better offer, just sounds good to say that kinda shit as its never verified
I'm honestly still surprised they traded him at all.

Same here. Better to have a young quality backup. Not saying this would happen, but what if Drake Maye got injured and Milton balled out, even if just for a bit. That alone would have raised his stock way more. Bad move by the Pats if you ask me.

They turned a 7th round pick in to a 5th round pick, that's pretty decent return
