Yeah, McVay coached Jared hard and Jared doesn't have that dog in him to bounce back or even fight back. LaFleur and even Taylor were go betweens who softened the coaching from McVay and also could talk back to McVay, when they left there was no go between and no one to tell McVay to chill - Jared wasn't going to do it.
Johnson, in DET, seemed to have found a way to meet Jared in a more encouraging way when he makes mistakes. He also was able to do things to make Jared a better drop back passer than McVay - though one could argue that the oline played a big role there, making the opportunity for mistakes less likely.
