I find it funny though that those who said we had to use that 26th pick because this is a win now team are fine with trading down to 46 and giving up a 3rd this year.

So obviously it's not an "all in" year... And I like the trade, but as I had stated this is about expanding the window and this trade does that while not helping us much this year unfortunately. I do hate losing the 3rd. Wish we would have at least gotten a 5th this year instead of the 7th.
The Rams may not be done trading down yet so they could recoup some picks for this year still possibly

I like that for the Lions. I had Williams as a target for us if we traded down.

It was an extra 3rd remember. We've gone from having a late round first with a decimated board, no 2nd and 2 3rds, to having a mid-round 2nd, a 3rd and a 1st next year.

It's an outstanding deal.

Moving out of round 1 seemed like the likely scenerio all along.

I love how someone kept arguing with me that no one would trade up with us.

it only takes on desperate team.

And the players they liked at 26 are still there at 46? Les killed it by all accounts. Division rivals saying we robbed ATL and the Rams don't play fair. IMO nothing to complain about here.

That's a good point. Could also move up from the 4th with a 6th rd pick. Maybe get a late 3rd back for a targeted player.

And now they may go get one of the vet FA CBs like Rasul Douglass or Stephon Gilmore or Asante Samuel Jr. Just more help if they end up short a pick or two this year.

i ain't worried about the this or that of the trade down...

don't forget, we get a lot of value out of later round picks, and not to mention the UDFA's...

we got the guys with the ability to find talent where none of us expect, but are so glad to see the end results...

so now it's the rest of the draft and one of my favorite parts of the process, the UDFA's...

go rams
