I'm with you. If you are going off reports before the draft giving away our intent, I got my house for sale at 5 billion dollars, it's a steal hahahaha
Me walking in my new 5 million dollar house

Anything of course is possible. But trying to read tea leaves is what we do here. Just my best guess that given how this offseason has gone the draft is the plan at LT, either this year or next year. We'll know soon thankfully.Who is to say they don’t extend Jackson out at reasonable deal or go after one of the tackles later in the draft?
As many have said already, After this year, then what. The likelihood of picking up a FA LT next year is slim and AJax will be a FA. He obviously is good, but he isn't Ideal. I like the kid from Washington. That video in this thread was impressive. Ajax is not capable of that. I also agree with what was posted earlier, that being in this draft position again is unlikely and a dominant LT is harder to aquire in this league than most positions. Lets not forget both the LTs we have come up lame frequently. And RT is getting old. Loosing Stafford would undo everything.I hear you but Left Tackle is a tough position for a rookie to start and play well.
I believe there were five college OTs selected in the 1st Round last year.
All five started as rookies but none started at Left Tackle. Four played Right Tackle and one played Guard.
So, you're on-the-fence.As many have said already, After this year, then what. The likelihood of picking up a FA LT next year is slim and AJax will be a FA. He obviously is good, but he isn't Ideal. Can you picture Stafford healthy all year? With a running game? Look what it did for Goff. Stafford with time.....OMG!
What are you talking about? The kid busts his ass and has tried extremely hard to get better. He has the work ethic and respect of his teammates for that. What he doesnt have is a fucking clue about how to read a defense, and its not from a lack of studying. He just doesnt have it, surely wasnt helped by being coached by the Jets version of Scott LinehanI think a kid like him needs to be handled carefully. I wouldn't give him shit. I'd tell him here's the playbook and if you want a roster spot you'd better come into camp prepared and run that fucking huddle like a pro. And if I saw any BS from him I'd cut him quickly to make an example of him.
All of those reports could be coming from the same source. You didn't ask me but I'll give you my opinion anyway lol
There are a lot of little clues coalescing in the last week or so.
1) Several reporters have released statements that they are hearing the Rams want to move up for an OT, including Allbright and Daniel Jeremiah.
2) Several reporters have stated that they are hearing that the Rams want OT badly. Schrager guaranteed we go offense and had us selecting OT. Other reports were more general stating we wanted an OT badly.
3) Vegas odds have 6 teams in the top 18 picks with strong odds to select an O'lineman first.
4) Add it all up, if the Rams want one of the top 3 OTs, they will have to trade up.
Like to keep my options open. So, you're on-the-fence.
Fashanu is a better pass blocker than Alt and has an overall higher ceiling. The PFF guys say he’s the best pass blocker in the draft since Tyron Smith. So it depends on a teams priority. If they managed to trade up for Alt, I'd be all in on the move. But he's the only "sure thing" LT star in this draft (IMO).
Shrager also said it would be Tyler Guyton. He may be the one player that I’d feel sick about if he was the Rams pick. Aleric Jackson is better than Guyton. Guyton is a big gamble on coachability. He had them picking an OT at 19 and basically guaranteed they go offense with their first pick whatever number it is. He is definitely one of the compelling clues.
McVay didn’t tell Shrager anything that he wants kept a secret. He easily could be feeding him misinformation.Meh, we are grasping at crumbs but we have little else to do! The rumor is Schrager and McVay are good friends, so, it stands to reason that they may have spoken about it. Any team we engage with in trade up discussions is going to know what we are trying to move up for anyway. I hope it’s not true personally, but can see McVay wanting to do this easily.
Yea, it’s a plausible concept that the Rams could want a tackle in round 1. But McVay actually told me they do. If they do, then I look like I’m in the know. If they don’t, who cares? I can just say that the board didn’t fall right for them or they couldn’t strike a deal.It does seem to me like a very good educated guess.
Rams have definitely taught me not to make any assumptions on their intentions. But there are a lot of indicators for OT regardless and not talking media. We lose both Jackson and Boom after this season. We invested heavily in both OG spots and Hav is making reasonable cap money too. So it seems like they will draft LT, and if you look at whether it will be this year or next this year has many advantages. First off we are in that near range of maybe getting one of them for once. Secondly next season we should be drafting a lot later and chances are it won't be as good a tackle class. This one is excellent at the top and in depth.
He’d likely be had cheap.Saw Shaka Toney was cut by the Commodes could be a decent DE "project" low risk high reward kind of player and deal
I hadn't seen that, but not a bad idea to me. Murphy is the best chance of getting the inside pressure up (as far as possible without AD) to what we had last year.Jeremiah also said the Rams would trade up for Murphy and if that falls through then they will trade back.
My Tea Leaves tell me we take a kickerAnything of course is possible. But trying to read tea leaves is what we do here. Just my best guess that given how this offseason has gone the draft is the plan at LT, either this year or next year. We'll know soon thankfully.
Just cause they want to move up for a tackle doesn't mean the price will be worth it. They could want to do it and still not. Thanks for the replies @DzRams, @Flatlyner and @OldSchool.
Hoping it's not the case, and the first pick is for defense.
I don't think anyone's basing much on what Schraeger is saying. They are on what Allbright is saying.Fashanu is a better pass blocker than Alt and has an overall higher ceiling. The PFF guys say he’s the best pass blocker in the draft since Tyron Smith. So it depends on a teams priority.

It’s more likely that Shrager is just connecting the dots. His original info was simply ‘offensive player’, then he said his guess is Guyton. Offensive player could be trading up for Bowers or Odunze. Aside from pass catcher, Tackle is the only other option outside of QB. They have a Center and two good guards. It’s deductive reasoning.

Aside from that, I hope they want a specific left tackle if they are trying to trade up to get one, and not just settling for the best one that they are left with. That’s drafting for position of need. Bleh.
He’d likely be had cheap.
Good friend of mine is a major Jets fan and has gone on ad nauseum about shit like rumors on how he came into the team. It is why his OL members made T-shirts in support of the other QB. So here's a disclaimer that of course nobody knows. Just how I'd handle him. I think he could use a swift kick in his lily ass. What are you talking about? The kid busts his ass and has tried extremely hard to get better. He has the work ethic and respect of his teammates for that. What I am saying is Shrager could be Albright’s source. We have no idea who his source is. But Shrager said what Albright said, a week before Albright said it. He just did it a little differentlyI don't think anyone's basing much on what Schraeger is saying. They are on what Allbright is saying.
You really seem to love this Allbright guy. It's getting a little weird.I don't think anyone's basing much on what Schraeger is saying. They are on what Allbright is saying.
