My grandfather would watch this one every year, and his side of the family was all Navy. My Dad's side were all Marines. So even before I served I was rooting for Navy.

It's a remarkable thing though whether you served or not. Crazy how far back this tradition goes. One of those rare things where both sides are the good guys.

He was WW2 veteran that fought in Iwo Jima. A sniper shot him and he lost a lung, but then he smoked three packs a day on the one lung till the late 60's. He was still a Marine in his 60's and thought he could still fight young punks! lol
