I don't disagree. Boy has a herky-jerky run gait like Bobby Bouche but there may be some real ability there if the Rams can tap it. Here's his overall highlights film which is always gonna look better than reality but interesting is a good word for him.

Didn't help him that his quarterback lacked a deep ball; he could've beaten a lot of people deep if he had someone with an NFL arm. He's fast, he's quick, and he can return kicks (and I bet if we tried him at punts, he could do that as well).

Tyler Hudson is a nice pick up, 1,000 yard receiver here at Louisville last year . Terrible 40 time is my guess why he wasn't a late round pick or took so long to sign as a FA.
I always love to see production. For me that demonstrates a guy who does the work to be there lining up and getting the snaps, and even if it isn't pretty or explosive making the play is making the play. :thumbsup1:

Only two touchdowns, though, as a number one receiver for Cunningham and his backup (Dohman, was it?) Was Tiyon Evans getting touches in the redzone?
It was a crowded backfield last year, 3 or 4 guys got quite a few carries. Tiyon was impressive early in the year but had a injury and everyone kept waiting for him to come back but he never did (not sure if something else was going on). I remember him busting a couple of long runs and his speed was impressive for his size. Not sure why Hudson didn't get more red zone looks but Cunningham was accused a lot of playing hero ball in the red zone ,tucking the ball after a little pressure and trying to run it in.

Some players just have perfect names for broadcasters, I can hear it now, Square really Squared him up right at the line of scrimmage. I believe it will either be Square or Jake Hummel that will start opposite Jones not Rozebloom.

I agree. Edge could sneak into the line up next to Jones. He's a solid all around player. I'm curious to see how Kelechi Anyalbechi does in camp. He looks like a real thumper....

Rams signed their 26th undrafted free agent. Guard Grant Miller out of Baylor.

Knew nothing about him so I did a little research, and he is the son of former Rams' RT Fred Miller!

That's 40 new players ... 14 draft choices and 26 UDFAs.

Interesting write up on Xavier Smith

We signed him with a $5000 bonus. Reading this I cannot wait to see what he can do - with one eye on special teams - but also now WR. He sounds kinda special

“Elite route runner” 4.38 40 sounds like one who should possibly have been drafted. I think the elite is an exaggeration but in other reports they say he gets lots of separation.

Here is another great article detailing our interest in Xavier Smith. He was clearly under consideration in the 7th. The article also helps explain why we paid him a $5000 signing bonus. The Chargers and Titans were also interested before the draft

“According to Pro Football Network, the Rams took receiver and returner Xavier Smith through special teams drills following his workout”

That’s the workout where he clocked a 4.38 40 and excelled in other drills. Kids an athlete who can definitely play the game

PRINCETON – Matthew Jester has signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams following the NFL Draft.

"This has been a fantastic weekend for Princeton Football and Matthew's signing only adds to it," said Charles W. Caldwell Jr. '25 Head Coach of Football Bob Surace. "Matthew has worked so hard, and his Pro Day numbers reflect that. I can't wait to see what he does with the Rams!"

Jester was first-team All-Ivy in 2022 after leading Princeton in both tackles for loss (six) and sacks (three). He had sacks in Ivy League wins over Brown, Harvard and Dartmouth. The senior captain even got on the scoreboard this season, intercepting a conversion pass against Cornell and returning it for two points.

Mathew Jester?
You’re kidding, right?

Well, we have our quarterback-turned-wideout in Braxton Burmeister. 6’1, 205 lbs., ran 22 mph on the field.
