One Point ...
A player like Tre'Davious White would only accept that type of contract if nothing better was offered; and it only takes one team/offer. So that type of deal is very unlikely to happen until much later in the off-season ... post-Draft, or well into Summer.

There's just no incentive to the player to agree to such a contract early-on.

Now, an offer that includes more money, with some guaranteed-$ ... That could get the player signed sooner.

I think this applies to most veterans released this time of year for cap relief purposes. The bargains come late.

Absolutely. Maybe I wasn't clear. I never said "go get him NOW". It's something to think about down the road. And I doubt anybody is going to give him huge jack and guarantees. But you never know. Snyder may be gone but Jerrah still owns the Cowboys.

We're not that far off. I didn't necessarily think you were saying sign-him-fast.

Just trying to make a point.

Another is that I see a large-range between ... 'a cheap deal with incentives' and 'huge jack and guarantees'
There's a big middle-ground.

Easily White. The injuries are a concern, but we're talking about one of the better corners in the game before those injuries. I wouldn't mind a one-year prove-it deal for him.

My favorite corner in this free agency is probably Sean Murphy-Bunting, though. Productive, albeit a bit snake-bitten by injuries, but he's only twenty-six and had a solid year with the Titans.
