BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Bills' wild-card round game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers has been rescheduled to Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET from Sunday at 1 p.m. ET because of an incoming snowstorm, in order to prioritize safety in the region. The game will continue to be broadcast on CBS.

The move was announced in a news conference held by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Saturday afternoon. The decision came after conversations with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, emergency response teams, Bills leadership and the NFL.

"Now, you may see clear skies in [Sunday] morning, but don't be fooled," Hochul said. "The bullseye of the storm is predicted to hit midday Sunday afternoon right during the scheduled Buffalo Bills game. ... [The game will] continue to be played at Highmark Field right in Orchard Park. It's all part of our critical efforts to keep New Yorkers, motorists and fans safe from this wildly unpredictable storm."

Hochul said she first began conversations with the NFL on Thursday to discuss the options with the weather. She said this was not a decision reached because of playing conditions, but instead for the safety of everyone in the area, and that the change in date and time will give crews more time to clear the roads.

"As most know, there are hundreds of deputies, from not only the sheriff's office, but others that assist on game day. They need to be assisting in the middle of a snowstorm, helping those in need, not directing traffic at a football stadium," Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz said. "... None of us want to see that many vehicles on the road tomorrow morning trying to get to a football stadium knowing that the conditions are going to be as bad as they are."

I know everyone's safety is important but I love watching games with snow coming down like when Michigan beat Ohio State at the Big House 2 years ago

I'll be watching, but I decided working tomorrow would keep me from being anxious about the Rams game. Especially if crazy upsets be happening...it'll only give me more jitters...:laugh2:

Go Browns! The Flacco story has me hooked. I'm rooting for him!

Flacco or Stroud?

I am going with the veteran

I still cannot believe the NFL is putting the Chiefs game on Peacock. Put me in the camp not going to watch. I hope the ratings suck.
Obviously just a way to get you to sign up for their stupid peacock app

Rich Eisen was asking “how much did NBC pay for this one game?”

Apparently, the guesstimates are very high… Eisen estimated 9 figures, but I doubt they paid $100M… but maybe?

This is like the greatest game that never was...

Agreed.
I can easily see NBC’s Sunday night football moving exclusively to Peacock as early as next season as well.

That’ll be step one in eventually removing all the Sunday free network games on (CBS/FOX) to their respective streaming partners.

It’ll be a gross day when that happens.

ESPN wants to be a streaming service and if the NFL buys a piece the stage is set for that.

The mere mention of a domed stadium a few years ago brought the boo birds out. So if they love the shit weather so much why move the game? They didn't stop the fog bowl did they? Nothing but runs and 5 yd passes. The Bills expected the fans to shovel snow as well. Some owners huh?

They made Miami play in wind chill -27 degree weather today. What frostbite isn't a real danger? Everyone saw the weather report and knew Miami would freeze and shatter during the game. It was a forgone conclusion.
