I didn't hear that everywhere I'm looking I'm reading they don't want to pay his 18 million this Sunday that's due. My interest turned to him almost soon as von bolted. I put link up too. However could be I'm scoping every second of every day.....now I took a break and we sign Allen Robinson??? Haven't had chance yet to see this.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I thought that 18 mill was guaranteed, which is my mistake. They'll likely cut him then to save that $$, and now the Rams can sign him without giving up anything!

It is guaranteed if he stays but if traded before Sunday then the new team assumes it however the new team can convert it to a signing bonus break it up over whatever. His actual cap it I believe i read is like 1.3-1.8 but the 18 mill changes that. Sunday is the deadline.

I think our best bet at Hunter is a trade. He'll be out of our price range (unless more moves are made) on the open market.

Day 1 of 2022 NFL Free Agency and the new league year saw the Rams re-sign offensive lineman Joe Noteboom to a 3-year deal, and they also agreed to terms with offensive lineman Brian Allen on a 3-year deal and re-signed offensive lineman Coleman Shelton to a 2-year deal earlier this week.

Heading into free agency, NFL.com and Pro Football Focus both identified offensive line, linebacker and cornerback as the Rams' biggest needs. It's safe to say the first of those three positions have been addressed, so we'll be taking a look at the best available linebackers and cornerbacks on Day 2 of free agency.

Linebacker​

1) Bobby Wagner – No. 16 free agent on NFL.com Top 101, No. 3 free agent on PFF Top 100 best available; pictured above
An 8-time Pro Bowler and 6-time First-Team All-Pro, the 31-year-old Wagner amassed 1,383 total tackles, 23.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 16 pass breakups and six forced fumbles in 10 seasons with the Seahawks. He'd be a valuable veteran presence to have as a mentor for Ernest Jones, who had a promising rookie season in 2021.

2) Jadeveon Clowney – No. 17 (NFL.com), No. 4 (PFF)

The 28-year-old outside linebacker had a productive 2021 season with the Browns, registering nine sacks – half of a sack shy of matching his single-season career high – in 14 games, plus 37 total tackles and 19 QB hits. With Von Miller agreeing to terms with the Bills, the Rams could turn to Clowney as Leonard Floyd's new edge-rushing partner.

3) Melvin Ingram III – No. 18 (NFL.com), No. 10 (PFF)
Ingram, 32, had one sack in six games with the Steelers, then was traded to the Chiefs where he finished with two sacks in 12 games between the regular season and the playoffs. In 128 career games, he's tallied 385 total tackles, 51 sacks, 15 forced fumbles and 29 pass breakups.

Cornerback​

1) Stephon Gilmore – No. 12 (NFL.com), No. 5 (PFF)
A five-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro, the 31-year-old Gilmore began the 2021 season on the Patriots' physically unable to perform list after quad surgery in December 2020, then was traded to the Panthers in early October. He registered two interceptions, two pass breakups and 16 total tackles in nine games with the Panthers before a quad injury sidelined him for the final two games of the season. With Darious Williams agreeing to terms with the Jaguars, Gilmore could be an option to reinforce the secondary.

2) Bryce Callahan – No. 52 (NFL.com), No. 29 (PFF)

Time spent on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury and the Reserve/COVID-19 list limited Callahan to 11 games (six starts), but he still produced 29 total tackles and four pass breakups as the Broncos' primary slot cornerback last year. At 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, he more closely mirrors Williams' 5-9, 187-pound frame. He also offers some versatility, having also spent time playing outside corner in 2020, per PFF.

3) Donte Jackson - No. 69 (NFL.com), No. 34 (PFF)
A second-round pick by the Panthers in 2018, Jackson posted double-digit pass breakups (11) for the second-straight season, plus two interceptions while starting 12 games in 2021. Overall, the 26-year-old Jackson has collected 12 interceptions, 38 pass breakups and 209 total tackles in 55 career games (51 starts).

I have wondered what happen to Carolina's Donte Jackson. Thought he looked really good in his first couple seasons. Just don't see enough Panthers' games to have an informed opinion. The PFF grade is good (not a fan of PFF), and the Panthers are in decent cap-shape but they don't seem intent on holding onto a 26-year-old-CB they drafted in the second round.

Maybe he's QAnon.

Yea i cant say for certainty but he us signed through 2023 so 2 more years I believe not positive what i do know is they can restructure and keep that cap hit low by converting to signing bonus but also giving him a reasonable deal
At 27 id be cool with that. I'm ok with kicking the can with younger players 28 or below but who the hell am I lmao im a nut emotional fan that would probably run the team into the ground lol

He's 5'10".. I'd like someone bigger. Not saying no to him. Perhaps scheme fit is the issue in CAR?

Which is fine, there are several edge guys out there already so adding him to the mix may make negotiating with the others more fruitful. The whole supply and demand thing, lol. Could be a real headache to trade for him, commit to paying him 20 mill for 2022 and then having to negotiate an extension. He'd have a lot more leverage that way

There is no such thing as "QAnon".

But there is definitely a need for a #2 CB on the Rams with some clout opposite Ramsey, now that DWill has moved on.
I'm just as excited as everyone else about our young CB cadre, but someone with some 4.32s hops would be great.
