Maybe that's what McVay was referring to when he said this past week he would have liked to have helped Goff out a lot more. Having an effective blocking center would have helped out greatly. McVay settled on Blythe being his starting center in 2020.

Agree, but I think there was more to McVay's comment than just Blythe.

And to add to my Blythe hate - if Goff does extremely well at Detroit with an all pro center, I won't be upset at the Rams for trading Goff

However, I will be saying for years to come - Fuckin Blythe Fuckin Blythe Fuckin Blythe

Sorry but my hate for him will almost reach the hate I had for Georgia.

You must have forgotten about Brian Allen. Lol. How can you have so much hate for a player when it's not his decision if hes on the field?

Because he is the one that caused the Rams to trade Goff.

I can hate a player for that if (and I will admit it is a fairly large if) Goff plays in the top 5-10 QB ratings with Detroit since they have an all pro center.

I can hate a player if my favorite Ram other than Ramsey Kupp Woods and AD gets traded due to the poor play of this specific player on third down and long.

Allen's time as a Ram at center was too short for me to hate him. He could have gotten better but with his recent injury I doubt we will ever know if he could have become a good player or not. Blythe has played 4 years at a decent level except for 3rd down and long.

I would have been okay if Blythe played at center if they could bring in a stout center who could handle bull rushes on 3rd and long but I know that is an impossible dream.

He's obviously not the one who caused the Rams the trade goff lol if Jared's problems were all Austin Blythe then Jared would still be around and we wouldn't be talking about Blythe possibly coming back at center.

That's my belief. I have a bad feeling that Blythe will be back due to the Rams cap situation and that the Rams will draft a center and Blythe will be the starter for at least the first half of the year and possibly more before the rookie center is ready.

And I believe McVay knows that Goff is just not that good with Blythe at center and can't wait the 8 games or more to put in the Rookie center with the possibility of being out of the playoff race by then so he had to make a trade for Stafford who is definitely much better making plays under pressure than Goff. I think Goff has way more accuracy than Stafford but Stafford has way more mobility and arm strength.

I am sticking with that statement.

Wonder how much illegal tampering the Cheatriots did to have 4 big free agent contracts done within two hours of start of legal tampering?
I'm all about shitting on the Pats, but lets be real.... everyone tampers. Plus it's all the same agent, easy to go faster

Plus giving a TE who’s never had 500 yards more than Kittle in the guarantees? Hell yes let them cheat if they’re that bad now.

So far the Jaguars haven't done much despite having three signings already. $7 million a year for a pure return man who contributes absolutely nothing in the receiving game?
Maxes out at so I’m guessing that’s with incentives and who knows what they are. Plus while that’s a lot how nice would it have been if we had a return man the last few years.

I think the Rams are interested in Blythe at low end money only. IMO there's a lot of smoke going on and Snead was fanning that shit.

On the side of logic supporting them wanting to draft a Center is the fact that Blythe single handedly snuffed out more drives and potential TDs than any player I can recall in some time. He was their weak link but now people see his PFF scores and convince themselves that Blythe is a good player. He's not. There is no way they want to have Blythe allowing rushers to set up camp on Stafford's toes. Rams are completely full of shit at press conferences. If they pay Blythe anything significant I'll be shocked.

Oh and as posted elsewhere a while back here on the site they've interviewed Meinerz twice. IMO this is all about preventing teams from jumping us in the draft for centers.

What good is mobility and arm strength if you're not as accurate? Have fun with that belief but it has major flaws, as well as hating someone on a belief and not facts. I could see if it was a personality thing, but hating someone who has no control over the situation is crazy. Lol

Damn how did the Chiefs have money for that? I'm assuming it has to be one of the highest priced OG contracts ever and they just had to cut their LT to get under cap. Not sure this helps their tackle situation though.
