Jamie Collins is both Tarzan and Jane - depending on the D he is in. When he is on, he is elite. When he isn’t, he is a complete waste of space.

Kiser to Fangio’s defense…likely a plug and play guy who understands the system.

Maybe he needs to be pushed. It sounds like Belichick is a tough anddemanfing coach. Isn’t NE where Collins played best?

Either way I don’t see the fit with the Rams. But it could be interesting if the Rams culture could shock him back to his old form.

Believe it or not, I like Collins in a 34 D much better than a 43 D. Maybe there is something to this if Floyd continues on having big issues with that Ankle @ strong side OLB'er post...... where I think Collins can play best.

Back to reality if Floyd is damaged then Snead's cupboard is not bare. Justin Lawler even though he just has surgery has shown he can play the SSOLB post & might be active this week. Snead has rookie ER Chris Garrett ready to explode on the scene as a passing down terror. WS OLB Terrell Lewis has been healthy now for going on 3 weeks:wow2::eyeroll::sur:plus OLB Justin Hollins can flip to the Strong Side easy enough without too much drop off giving way to the young Lewis to start & finally there's OLB'er Og Okoronkwo who will be able to come off IR @ some point after this Sunday's game. So things might be going positive after the numerous hits @ OLB post in preseason & the regular season first 2 gms.

I was very much in Josh Gordon's corner and still hope for him to get his life sorted out.

What I will say is that sometimes our bodies crave what we want so badly that it functions almost like an addiction. We've seen young WRs and other "off the ball" skill positions displaying signs of CTE even in college as well as early in the pros.

I'd wager dollars to donuts that Titus Young has severe CTE.

What has been shown to heal the brain? THC.

I dunno if Gordon even wants to play, anymore, but as a science based person, I'm 110% glad that they aren't testing for THC anymore and it won't surprise me if in 10 years we have an "official THC gummy of the NFL" . I'm liking that we've seen no pops for THC.

I will say that I retract my statement that THC isn't a performance enhancing drug. It is in the same way that steroids are in baseball. No steroid ever hit a curveball, but they have gotten the likely aging hitter ready to step to the plate for another 161 games plus the post-season. THC never took a hit or helped anyone focus like Adderall, but it does help the brain heal faster and that's an advantage.

Well, I dunno if healing is an advantage, per se, but if nothing else, I'm glad players can engage substances that legit are better for them than some of the western pharmacology like opioids and steroid injections.

As for Gordon? Yeah, he's coming across as the Steve Howe in all this... and it is what it is.

If he can get his life straight and show up, then good for him.

I mean if Tony Mandarich can figure out a career after being a complete bust, then maybe Gordon can, too?

I dunno. I just know we're set.

i thought it was the alcohol tests that were doing him in.

i may be way off track though. but i clearly remember one suspension came after they found alcohol in his system. apparently they can't hit the booze if they're busted for taking dope. again i may be remembering it all wrong but that's how i saw it.

Yeah, once one substance is found, the player gets put on the equivalent of hospital food with respect to medications and supplements.

Get popped for coke? No booze for you.
Get popped for adderall? No booze for you.
Get popped for THC? No booze for you.

It's a really stupid system, conflates every "non-approved" drug as the same and isn't even based on science.

I mean, if you wanted to design the worst pain reliever for a football player, you'd design something close to opioids if not opioids, themselves.

So yeah, I think I remember one of his suspensions being from booze, but that whole system is just dumb.
