"Elsewhere on the Jets roster, New York placed high-priced cornerback Trumaine Johnson on injured reserve. He missed last week's game with injuries to both ankles, per the league injury report.

This move could signal the end of the Johnson era in East Rutherford. Signed in 2018 to a five-year, $72.5 million extension, Johnson has been massively underwhelming in one-and-a-half seasons in New York. A change at defensive coordinator this season did not help matters, as Johnson was benched early in the year in an already-shallow cornerback corps."

Tyler Lockett leg injury

Seattle wide receiver Tyler Lockett spent Monday night in a Bay Area hospital after suffering a lower leg contusion in Monday night’s 27-24 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers.

“Well, I think there’s a lot of swelling,” head coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “The contusion caused a lot of swelling right away and they’ve got stuff. There’s concerns about that … there’s a compartment element in this so they’ve got to make sure and just got to take care of him. And we’re ahead of it so we should be in good shape.”
