No need to be sorry, Ike deserves his own thread and definitely deserves to be in the HOF. What an injustice.

At the time of his retirement, he was 2nd in history in Receiving yards. That is all anyone needs to know. Total shit that he isn't in the HOF.

It's a travesty. In fact the HOF selection committee itself is a travesty for snubbing the great Isaac Bruce. I saw him play every game. Not only did he set records but he was an exciting player to watch. I have talked to many 49er fans and even they claimed he was a great receiver and and believed he was the player they most feared. Just don't understand this.

For some reason Bruce isn't getting traction in that room. Heard he was eliminated in the first round of cuts, where they pare the list of finalists from 15 down to 10. This has happened each of his other two years as a finalist as well.

I've heard HOF voters slapping the "system WR" tag on him (Mike Sando, for one). I'm guessing that's the perception he's fighting against.

Its that motherfucker Sando

How is a moron like Mike Sando a HOF voter? Also, how can a guy be a system WR when his best year came in a shitty system with bad teammates?

Come on folks...I don't like it either. Let's not be bitter though...the signals are there. It didn't happen this time...but just based on the fact he made the final list...we'll see it happen next year.

Be like Bruce!

Actually that '95 team wasn't a bad team...scrappy as hell but they didn't know how to win yet. But yeah more to your point, Bruce and Bettis were the only weapons on offense and Bettis was running against 8 man fronts all day.

Interesting just how many '99 defensive starters were already in place that year too.

When I say bad teammates, I'm talking about the offensive starters. I don't think there was a single offensive starter on that 95 team other than Bruce who started on the 99 Rams.

No way in hell do Mawae and Law deserve to be in the Hall over Bruce. Especially Mawae over Faneca and Hutchinson as well. I honestly think he got in because he was head of the players association.

No way do those two deserve to be Hall of Famers, especially over more deserving candidates.

The others, I understand. But I'm pissed that Bruce got snubbed again.

I strongly and respectfully disagree.

It's arguable that Bruce was the best route runner to EVER play this game.

The guy had 119 catches for 1781 yards and 13 touchdowns as a 2nd year player as the ONLY real offensive target with Chris freakin' Miller as the QB.

There's NO WAY if Bruce had a QB like Warner, Goff, Montana, Young, Brady, Brees or Manning that he doesn't OBLITERATE the catch and yardage totals.

Barry Sanders had terrible OLs during his time and while he still performed, he got shut down a ton. Can you imagine Barry Sanders behind that 90s Dallas OL? We'd seriously be looking at 20k yards.

Which is kinda the point. Bruce finished 2nd in all-time yardage without a full career with all-time support. He certainly didn't have the bevy of OLs and QBs that Rice had and I'll go to my grave knowing that Bruce was a BETTER route runner than Rice.

BETTER.

So the notion that Bruce is just another finalist to me is bordering on football sacrilege.

Every year he doesn't get in shows me that quiet guys get lost and self promotion is what these voters look for.
