Really Nice pick, SierraRam! I was hoping to see him in an L.A. Uni, just not the Chargers!!The Chargers feel they're very close to going deep into the playoffs, but their inability to stop the run hurt them all year. Not anymore. The best run-stuffer in the draft falls to #17 and the LA Chargers of Carson City are no longer soft in the middle. With the 17th pick, The Chargers select:
Da'Ron Payne DT Alabama
From NFL.com:
Overview
Payne possesses one of the most impressive combinations of strength and athleticism that we've seen from an interior lineman. He will be the premier run-stuffer in this draft, but he may have enough in the pass rushing toolbox to project as a better pro than college pass rusher. Payne is a game-ready starter who immediately upgrades a defense's ability to slow the run... he could become a Pro Bowl defender early in his career.
With the 18th pick of the 2018 draft the Seattle Seahawks select
CB Denzel Ward, Ohio State
With the departure of Richard Sherman, the undersized Ohio State prospect will have big shoes to fill. But Ward's technical and hard hitting ability, he has all the measurable he needs to become a true #1 Corner in the NFL.
Above all else, Ohio State’s Denzel Ward is electric, and can make plays with his speed and ball skills. He might be a bit small for the position, but he makes up for it in freaky athleticism and raw talent.
No problemO Bro! Got you covered! I'll keep you picks Secret!Nice pick. There goes one of mine!!
I have sent a list of selections to @DaveFan'51 so he can make the Lions pick for me if it comes up whilst im sleeping down this side of the world. He has one less to choose from now.
His height is an issue, BUT, in the first game of the season for Ohio State, and Ward’s first game as a true starter, the Buckeyes tasked him with defending Indiana’s Simmie Cobbs Jr. Despite Cobbs being 6-foot-4 and Ward being 5-foot-10, Ward made the best of the situation. On the night, Ward collected four tackles and one of his two interceptions on the season. While those are not eye-popping numbers, they say a lot about a nickel corner defending a receiver with the size of Cobbs, I think he has the football smarts to grow a few inches on the field AND has been called the most talented draftee on the D side of the ball by many NFL scouts...WOW! It took 18 picks before the 1st CB Falls! that's a surprise to me! Nice pick, although I prefer my CB's a little Taller! BUT he is from Ohio State, which I like!
Great pick jsimcox! I have @Ramrockets pick, and will be right back with it!!! Your pick was one of the picks he gave me to pick from!! But not his Highest!!With the 19th pick in the 2018 draft, the Dallas Cowboys select:
Minkah Fitzpatrick - Safety - Alabama
The Cowboys have needs at linebacker and DT, as well as safety, making those positions strong considerations at this pick.
However, I'm amazed that a player considered by some to be the best defensive player in the draft is still on the board, and Fitzpatrick also fills a position of need with Byron Jones moving to corner from safety this off-season. That being the case, the Cowboys sprint to the podium to make this pick, putting @Ramrocket and the Lions on the clock!
@PressureD41 is on deck
Bengals select OL Connor Williams Texas
STRENGTHS: Smooth in his shuffle and quickly finds his landmarks…flexible knees/joints to sit in his stance and maintain balance…anchors well in his pass-sets, staying relaxed prior to punch…efficient reset with his hands to tie up rushers…always on alert and avoids tunnel vision…athletic range to pull and block in space…quick out of his stance to pounce in the run game…lands his target, rolls his hips and drives his legs in the run game…blocks with a nasty finish, often taking his man to the ground…played in three different blocking schemes at Texas and adapted well to each…older brother (Dalton) played quarterback at Stephen F. Austin and Akron before a quick stint with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2013…mature individual who developed as a vocal leader in 2017…started 28 games at left tackle the past three seasons.
Bills are looking to move down from 22 if anyone wants to offer a trade
Bengals on the clock, Bengals gave up picks 46,77&100 for this pick
