I saw this on the front page and thought "Fake News". No way we are allowed to trade #1 picks into 2030...

Actually went back and scanned through this thread. Kinda fun to read some of the past opinions. I didn't have any awful opinions this time except for my joke about Wentz's arm getting ripped off if we draft him cause of our bad luck that seemed to fall flat lol.

However, seeing the name Quick mentioned by people as a player who was going to step up triggered some unhealthy PTSD rage.

Right on. Good times ahead this season my man. :cheers2:
Are there? Six months ago Stafford was a decent aging QB on a shitty team who'd never done anything of not now he's the second coming. And if you dare to question moves that McVay and Snead make you're shit on. Sounds like a great time to me until the draft /s

c'mon now.... "And if you dare to question moves that McVay and Snead make you're shit on"

Really? I've seen plenty of folks who question it and nothing comes of it.

Now, there are posts where Armageddon is pronounced with a certainty that is awesome to behold.

These posts assert with the assurance of a time traveler who understands alternate timelines that this trade spells disaster, proves McVay and Snead are the frauds some folks have thought all along (but never said so until this trade) and that WOE UNTO THOSE WHO THINK OTHERWISE!!!

C'mon...

No one is shitting on the "I'm not sure this is gonna work out" posts or the "the math doesn't add up to me" posts. Disagree? sure, see that all the time about just about every topic.

But the hyperbole... no one's a victim here. No one knows the future, so all of us are coming at this with ZERO knowledge about how this will work out. The best anyone has including McVay and Snead is an educated guess with no control over the randomness of the universe.

There are the extremes... Stafford leads the Rams into a Cowboys like dynasty of 3 Super Bowl wins in 4 seasons all the way to Stafford relives Trent Green's demise and we find out Wolford is no Warner.

I dunno and no one else does, either. Some are rooting for Stafford to succeed and some are more concerned with being right (I'm familiar with the accusation as it was levied against me no matter how dispassionate I was during the 2016 preseason).

Such is the way of Rams fans and Rams QBs, it seems.

You did notice that /s in my post you quoted right it's the last 2 symbols in the post.

Fact is there is always some truth in sarcasm. I think Stafford is a good QB and hope for the best moving forward. But he's got a lot to prove to live up to this trade. I am honest though about him in saying 6 months ago the general opinion of him was he's an adequate aging QB who's never done much in the league. People forgive him his failings because he failed for another team. As I've said before. One of my favorite rumors going around here was people critical of Jared with no evidence that he wasn't taking things seriously and he and his pretty girlfriend were more interested in partying than anything and it affected his game. Again with no evidence yet we just traded for a guy that at the same age earned the nickname "Frat Stafford" by Lions fans. His other famous nickname is "Stat Padford" though that generally comes from NFCN non Lions fans.

There are in fact people here who won't tolerate anybody with a different opinion and do their best to attack and degrade people who are willing to express a counter point but those are a minority of posters. As we've seen in many topics.

McVay has made a lot of mistakes IMO (and in others opinions it seems) and is very very rarely held accountable or criticized for them. We all hope for the best we almost all disagree with Sneads drafting and he and McVay's decisions on free agents coming and going. But to some we're all expected to fall in line and be good little lemmings and ignore those mistakes going forward. It's tiring reading people who think the only issues the last couple years and why we haven't won a SB yet was Jared Goff.

Personally I have less of a desire to participate in the circle jerks that are going around, I'm sure they'll calm down eventually hopefully before the draft. Right now I have more fun spending time doing things other than participating on this board.
