Rich Eisen and crew were talking about the possibility of the Rams and Seattle both being 15-0 before their first meeting. I know that's near impossible, but if it were to happen, that game, on Christmas no less, would be the biggest regular season game of all time. Bigger than Bears-Dolphins 1985 or the Patriots' finale vs NYG to go 16-0 in '07. I can't think of anything that would be close. And meeting again two weeks later would be almost as big. It would be EPIC.

I don't care what Rich Eisen says: it's not happening. In fact, I'm willing to throw down a bet for both teams that they - and every team in the NFL, for that matter - had lost long before their first meeting between the Rams and Seahawks.

That would be the biggest statistical anomaly amongst statistical anomalies, and it's just not going to happen for either team, not even us. Every team in the NFL has the potential for an upset, and we're not invincible, no matter how much we add to our team.

EDIT: Aside from that, I'd rather go undefeated in the playoffs than undefeated in the regular season.

For all of the hype that the Rams defense and offense has received this offseason, it's amazing that the season could potentially be derailed if the special teams unit isn't up to snuff.


One could argue that last year's team would be Champions with a better unit.

No argument. It is the truth. Fumbled punt. blocked FGs, Punt return. Absolutely horrible punt coverage. Weak ass punt returns. On the punt returns, watch the NFCC. The first punt X fumbled but got back. Forbes is the guy supposed to slow down the gunners. He stops 20 yards from X and lets the gunner go.

Next punt he does the same thing only his guy gets the ball. That is the attitude the Rams had on ST. They should be shadowing the gunners all the way till the whistle. Maybe the Rams recover if they had at least one guy besides X down there. The attention to detail that the rams coach on offense and defense doesn't exist for ST. It is nice that the Rams saw there weaknesses and fixed them. I hope ST gets the same attention.

Man! I was screaming this. I couldn’t understand the thought process to just letting the gunner go at the end and turning the other way. At minimum, you might at least get in the way of a tackler but in this case, have a chance to be there for the recovery. I was beside myself watching that. But then I have since watched several other punts and it appears that was either what they were taught or allowed to do all season. If the gunner got by them at all, it was as if they were supposed to just acknowledge they were beat and hope the returner would catch the ball and make the first person miss. I could almost ALMOST understand if it had been working. But…..

Yeah, I think the trigger was the fair catch signal. I still say if the gunner keeps going in case the ball is fumbled, why wouldn't the receiving team. It is beyond stupid. I can't believe a McVay coached team would be that nonchalant. More unforgivable than the muffed punt. That was a mistake. Not following the gunner is controllable, a decision.

Someone who follows the beat reporter should ask why they don't do that.

I think McVay's gonna put a lot more focus on that unit than he did last training camp. He knows they cost a few games and almost cost others. And cost the NFCCG. My concern is Jackson. If they suspend him 6 or 8 games we're gonna have to hope Quisenberry's up to the task. Poor play from your left tackle can cost you games. Putting DJ Humphries out there cost them the Atlanta game.

I'd be more worried about getting to week 1 with everyone available. The variables are many. Will Nacua and Jackson stay out of trouble? Does Staffords back stay strong? The NFL has a way of making the supposed top teams humbled. Just takes losing a player here or there for the wheels to fall off. History has shown us that it's very unlikely that the division winner repeats. I'm thinking the hawks will have a down year and the Good Guys will be battling at the end to win the division against a different team.
