This is a 'Wrestlemania' type of bet. It is intended to enhance your viewing of the Rams in preseason rather than being a life and death rush to make $ROD. The intention is not to anger those who are unhappy with members betting on this sort of Rams wager. Consequently limits are low, and limits for players NOT making the roster are lower still. This event is for the 'I knew it!' fan who wants to be able to say 'I told you so!'.
For information purposes the odds in this wager are based on the Rams likely keeping a high number of WRs. The estimate is 5.7. This guestimate is subject to change and odds could change significantly. Generally if you think the Rams will keep a maximum of 5 WRs you will be better off backing WRs to (NOT) make the team. If you think the Rams will keep at least 6 there should be some value in backing 'some' WRs to make the team. Either way there will be no settling adjustments for the Rams keeping a high or low number.
With Bailey being released odds have shortened on all players making the team. I have also adjusted the expected WR allocation to 5.81 as I think we're now more likely to keep 6 players.
I have increased the WRs-on-the-roster projection to 5.86 from 5.81 which has shortened the odds of players making the roster and lengthened the odds of players not making the roster. Cutting JJ Worton has also had a tiny impact towards the back of the field. $ROD limits have been raised to allow winnings of 6000 on players making the roster and 4000 on players not being unsuccessful.
The projection is back to 5.82. The Rams might only keep 5 on the active roster with 1 or 2 rookies on the PS on high salaries to prevent them being poached. No reason to have 7 on the active roster.
The latest projection is 5.77. Bet limits have been raised to allow 2 X $7500 winnings on players making the roster and 2 X $6000 winnings on players not making the roster.
All this $LOVE for Spruce and Williams? OK. Have your fun. I'll leave the odds as they are until the book closes 15 minutes before the 2nd preseason game kicks off. Obviously the game will influence the future odds but don't expect me to be as 'generous' next week.
As background information the current WR projection is for 5.81. I'm pretty sure i'll be raising that, (and shortening some of the 'make it' odds), after the Chiefs game. Current limits are 3 bets where you can win approximately $10K on any player making the roster, and 4 X $6K bets on a player not making the roster. If you want to wager more than those limits all you have to do is ask.
Book re-opened after the Spruce and Marquez injury reports. Just a reminder to all - you can bet on more than 1 player, (making or NOT making the roster), and you can bet on each player up to 4 times, (so if you want to bet more than the 1 bet limit, bet it all all, and then bet again). Winnings limits on a player making the roster are now 4 X $9K. Limits on players NOT making the roster remain at 4 X $6K. The current projection for WR making the roster is up to 5.857. Keeping 6 WRs looks likely but it's still possible we'll keep only 5 and use the roster spot on another position. Another reminder this wager is making the initial 53-man roster. If a player is put on IR or is traded before then he won't make the initial roster. If a player doesn't make the initial roster but is later re-signed - he did not make the initial roster.
We're a week away from the initial 53-man roster. Cooper is injured and is almost certain to be unavailable for Week 1. Combined with minor injuries to Spruce and Marquez it looks almost certain that the Rams will have 6 WRs on the initial roster. The current projection is up to 5.93.
