I grabbed this snippet from the attached article. There is more, but this is the topic I want to hear from members.

What do you do? $25-$30M? Gulp. Feels like he just went on a Foles run, earning an overpriced contract?

———

All the things he accomplished in his brief time with Tennessee will make him attractive to teams in need of an upgrade at quarterback. In his eight-year career, he never has earned more than $18 million in a season. Estimates are that he now can command $25 million-$30 million (possibly more) per year in his next deal.

The Titans will have the wherewithal to pay market value and – presumably – will want to bring him back. If necessary, they could ensure his return with the use of a franchise tag, but they might need that for another high-profile free agent.

So, now that there are no more games to be played, it is time to start the waiting game while Tannehill figures out what he wants to do and where he wants to be.

“I think that we started something special here,” Tannehill said. “A lot of belief in one another in what we can do when we buy in and believe in each other and play together. And we did that throughout the whole season.

I'd sign him to a 1 year prove it deal and see if he can consistently lead a winner. I really like Tannehill. I wanted him to backup Goff before Bortles signed. He has awesome mobility and a clean release.
He won me over when the Rams went to Miami in 2012. He was hard to sack as a rookie with Quinn, Long and Hayes getting after the QB.

I think Tannehill is better than what his career in Miami portrayed, but conversely not nearly as good as his stint in Tennessee leads some to believe. Sure, they can win games with him when they are running the ball well and playing good D, but I don't see where he can take a team on his back and win. Just quickly looking thru his game logs, and in game where he attempted more than 30 passes, they were 1-3 (including playoffs), 20 or less pass attempts, 5-0
I think the Titans should offer him a decent deal with heavy incentives, but not huge guaranteed money. I think there are plenty of vet QB types who will be around out there who could play the game manager role for them

I can say this with certainty... I wouldn't get in a bidding "war" against myself. I'd wait and see what his market price really turns into before I would even give him a dollar figure.

He sure seems like fools gold to me... just like when I said Foles is Foles gold. He doesn't pass the eye test for me... but he may be way better than the alternatives, so they are just gonna have to let the process work it's way out in an open market before they can make an educated decision.

He'll end up in Tampa with Bruce Arians at about 20 mill per

That would be a good situation for him.

Arians could get him back on track for development.
What do the Titans do at QB if they dont resign Tannehill? I think they keep him possibly at a Franchise Tag for a year to prove it-similar to what they will do with Winston in Tampa. Marriota is gone so they cant afford to lose Tannehill

Watching the last game was interesting to me. The Tennessee line collapsed & Tannehill got pounded late.
I think Tennessee if Marriott goes must try to lock him up for a muti-year contract.
If he does well again he ends up being another Cousin’s. The price will only go up. They have a good sample size. Patrick Mahomes he is not, but does run better than Goff.

Titans sign him and bring him back....It's that simple, they will draft a Quarterback, but Tannehill and he will give you a hometown discount because he realized how good he's got it.

I totally agree. He was in a bad situation in Miami and now he has a good team around him. Hes no superstar but he can get a team to the playoffs.

They've got to be somewhat competitive in their offer though. This is likely his big chance to get real F.U money in his career, the chance that his immediate family will be taken care of, as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews. Plus my understanding is that most athletes are very competitive, and that includes for their salary relative to other players.
