Indeed. I remember those 17 straight losses as a fan. I also remember the '89 NFC championship beatdown at the hands of those :censored: when we had put together an oustanding football team built to unseat those bastards.

That '99 season cured many different lingering ailments for longtime Rams fans :cool:

Faulk "thinks" the rivalry went back to the California days......

THAT's an understatement of epic proportions....in the 50's it was more a matter of the north versus southern cal. There was no love lost, but it was tamer back then, more about pride of beating the cross town rival sort-to-speak. Things began to pick up during the Brodie era however as each visit seemed to create greater and greater tension and the media assisted by keeping the flames burning.

Then came Montana and things began to really heat up big time as the competition and emotions escalated. Looking back, I think this period really cemented the deep hostility that existed between these teams that continues today (but seemingly, not nearly as intense as in the past). Young of course continued the tradition. Now comes Kat-nip, let's hope we have his number because outside of the Cowpukes, I REALLY HATE THAT TEAM!
