So, I went over to my old University (Valdosta State) last night to people watch. I stood in line for about 45 minutes but never got in to the venue. It only holds about 8000 and there were about 12000+ there.
I was somewhat amazed. The demographic was amazing. I've never seen such a diverse gathering for a political rally. Now, of course, I'm sure many there were like me, just watching the show but it is quite the phenomenon. And the sideshow was entertaining. A few protesters roaming about, some in cars with messages spelled out on their vehicles circling the area with bull horns. Venders, looking like they fell straight off the carnival caravan, selling everything from Trump hats, shirts, button, flags, banners, and even condoms. (Yeah, I almost bought one of the condoms because it was so damn funny.)
I type this thread not to start political debate but to express how amazed I am at how energized this guy has gotten such a wide array of people. And evidently, he has gotten the entire citizenry stirred up. I stood in the longest lines today to vote of my entire life. I think this upcoming elections will see record breaking numbers of voters casting a ballot. I think that is a good thing.
