“He still is a very good coach. Obviously, he’s taken a program that was down and he’s turned it into a playoff-caliber program in just a matter of a couple of years. He’s got an excellent staff, very organized and they had a very, very successful year last year which I got to pay close attention to.”
(On if it will be tough coaching against his friend)
“Jim and I aren’t going to be waving and saying hello during the ballgame - we’re competing. But Jim’s got a very talented coaching staff. When the game’s kicked off, this is going to be all sorted out by the players.”
(On the difference between preseason and the first week of the regular season)
“It’s a huge difference. It’s hard to compare anything in the National Football League to opening weekend. It kicks off tonight and the weekend… everybody’s been waiting on this forever. It’s a real exciting weekend.”
