Daniel Jeremiah ranks qbs in the last 3 drafts
He ranks them:

Darnold, Wentz, Rosen, Goff, Mayfield, Allen, Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, Lynch.

Interesting, but you can’t really project what kind of situation guys end up in. Kizer was probably doomed and Lynch wasn’t able to stay on the field. Wentz, Goff, Watson and andTrubisky benefited from good coaching.

Always good form to include a link when creating threads.

Just a little bit curious here, but which past draft was Darnold, Rosen, & Mayfield from and who drafted them?

It cracks me up that as of yet undrafted QB's, top those who have actual games in the NFL...joke.

And how is Watson not #1?

As a rookie he had his offense going at 40pts a game through 7 games. Dude was ROFLSTOMPING the league...

its his views of them as prospects, not NFL players. so any nfl success means nothing in this ranking

Correct, this is directly from the article:

"I recently looked up the grades I gave to the quarterbacks in the '16 and '17 draft classes and I slotted them in with this year's crop of talent."

And he mentioned that he gave a very similar grade to each of the top 4 [Darnold, Wentz, Rosen, Goff]. I see nothing wrong with his rankings.

So if Goff had failed this year, he would still have rated #3 on the list? I dunno..

It is the slow off season for these writers too. Nothing to write about so they make up nonsense to discuss.

DJ is a respected scout and pundit. Moreover, evaluating rookie QB’s predraft is as difficult as it gets.

So, I find DJ’s relative grades on these QB’s both interesting and relevant.

Yeah, to reiterate, if you look at the actual article, DJ is using the draft grades he had on these guys coming out of college, and without looking at how any of them did in the league. That's why you don't see Dak Prescott on this list, while Paxton Lynch comes in at #10.

I like this kind of thing for evaluating how these prospects might develop and where they might eventually sit among their peers. There's obviously no guarantee that Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen are capable of developing and adapting to the NFL game the way Wentz and Goff both have (both guys are as smart as the smartest of the four coming out this year, according to wonderlic [admittedly a flawed measure, but...]). In any case, feels like the most unbiased/honest way to judge the potential of current prospects versus quarterbacks already in the league.

Jeremiah's a great source for draft stuff. While I'm not as interested in QBs as I was when the Rams didn't have their guy, still follow what he says, and excited for this crop to come in, so we can start talking about new elites at the position, rather than the aged and ageless ones we've had to suffer hearing about from the same old boring clubs (Steelers, Pats, Saints, Chargers, Packers)...

That's why Lynch was listed at the bottom? Because he was the worst prospect?

Yeah...not buying it.
