Stopped listening after he makes his point which I must admit is very valid. He's saying if Gettleman has a brain he'll trade him to the AFC. Don't send him to the Rams because that would make the Rams, a conference rival, deadly. You trade that kind of guy to the other conference.

Yeah - I stopped listening shortly after. While I agree with the point, the old saying of “you can never play not to lose” comes to mind. Anyone who limits their choices by how good someone else might be is damned to mediocrity.

While I never like our players going to division rivals, I wouldn’t ever hamstring our move forward for that supposed fear.

Once they are no longer wearing horns, fuck them and the horse they’re now riding. If you can improve your team - you do it. If that player punks you later on, you didn’t do enough. Pretty plain and simple.

Play, trade, draft, sign to win. Nothing else matters. The fans may hate certain moves, but if you build a winner, all that will be forgotten. I have always hated our players playing for other teams - ESPECIALLY DIVISION OR CONFERENCE RIVALS. But the fact is that no good franchise let’s that stand in the way of a positive move.

I just want to say, ever since S.A.S. made a comment a few years ago about the Chargers kicking a FG on third down being the way to go since if they missed it, they simply kick it again on 4th down, I've not really paid attention to his opinion on any sport other than basketball. And since I don't watch basketball above the NCAA level, I don't really listen to S.A.S. after all. He's a complete tool with a big mouth.

I can't listen to this guy and his act... beyond annoying.

Sometimes I accidentally switch over to the radio station his show is on in the afternoon,,, then I realize my mistake and immediately switch over to ANYTHING else in almost panic mode.

I agree with your post, but there is something else going on with Steven Smith.

He doesn't like the Rams, and I'm not sure why..

What first comes to mind is that they made him look bad last year due the success that he didn't predict. He was proclaiming how bad Goff was after seven games, until he was forced to admit what he saw last season....BUT EVEN SO, he predicted a down season for Goff and the offense in 2018 before any moves were made in the offseason. Now, he doesn't want the Rams to have OBJ and used some valid reasons for it...But the real deal is that he doesn't want the Rams to succeed, and getting OBJ means Ram success to him....

And yet ESPN LA gives him a 2 hour block every morning, so basically every single morning you have Meeshawn bitching and shitting on the Rams, then Smith, and finally you get fun Rams talk with Mason and Ireland... between talking USC, Lakers, and politics for some reason.

I'm impressed that anyone actually listened to it. I was going to but opted for throwing a couple forks in my trash disposal and turned it on because the sound of grinding, clanking and squealing seemed more therapeutic

He is correct about prioritizing moving the player to the other conference. But he's not a GM who has an owner on his @$$ about moving a player for whom most teams are not in play.

Whoever the other team is, they need to have a need for him, interest in him in spite of the video and his high maintenance needs, and enough cap room to get him inked. When you're lookin at that type of combination of factors it's probably not feasible to eliminate half the teams in the NFL. What you eliminate is division rivals.

Stephen A Smith was bearable when he was all about hoops, but when the guys at Disney sent down the memo it was over

You guys remember the correct Smith? Street and Smith's

The good old days when we actually held things in our hands and didn't read off a computer screen
