For the Conference champion losers in each conference they should be able to play for 3rd place. Imagine if KC and NO played this upcoming Sunday during the bye week leading up to the Super Bowl. I’m sure the profits would be much more than if there was no game. Get rid of the Pro Bowl and make a 3rd place game. KC and NO would be a great game. I know the players may not be as motivated to get 3rd place but make the incentive something worthwhile for them. What do you all think?

In the NFL there is no consolation prize. It's all about winning the Super Bowl. Nothing more, nothing less. This isn't college football, or high school football. It's real football with real men who have only one goal; winning the Super Bowl.

There used to be such a game before the NFL/AFL merger and the Super Bowl. They do need to bring it back now however in order to give the Saints a fair opportunity to finish 4th.

No one would show up. No player is gonna risk money/injury over a meaningless 3rd prize.

I kinda like the idea. I hate dealing with the two week wait. What would you call it? Maybe the Salad Bowl?!

I think the Chiefs and Saints should go play a game of where are we watching the Super Bowl at?

I knew that sounded familiar. Rams played in that game (they called it the Playoff Bowl) twice. In 1967 against Cleveland and 1969 against Dallas.

I kind of like this idea as well. They could play for the Bud Grant or Marv Levy trophy.

I feel like they wouldn’t play their starters to eliminate injury risk, and would lose on purpose to get a better draft pick.
