If (and when) Spanos gets tired of being the "redheaded stepchild" of the NFL, he has a ready made stadium and fan base waiting for him with open arms in Mexico City. The NFl has played games there for the past ten years with sellout crowds. Chargers already have a large fan base there as San Deigo is right on the border with Mexico. The move would make everyone happy.

He should sell the team to a mexican drug cartel in Mexico City. Deep pockets. Huge fanbase.

Just bring lots of security when the Rams play down there...

The answer, which is rarely this clear cut... is to have them be sold and the new owner move them back to SD and work with the city to make a stadium that's modest, in the spirit of the laid back SD style and shares with one of the local unis.

SD fans were passionate and while I think they'd be embraced in St. Louis, among other cities, especially if there were no stadium drama... the Chargers need to go back to SD under new ownership.

Yeah, there's no way Spanos can move them back. He'd be hung up from a light pole in the Lamplighter district.

Used to listen to SD sports radio when we were still in CA and he burned his bridges with the city and fans.

The Chargers last game in SD (lame duck) they still drew over 50K fans. That compares to less than 10K after two years in LA. They are losing fans in LA because they used to draw 12-15K in fans last year. The only thing supporting Spanos are the thousands of fans supporting the opposition. When your home stadium has more opposing fans than your fans you have a problem. That's why they rather play on the road. It's the same crap with fan noise, only when they travel it's not an embarrassment.

The Chargers were on the one yard line set to go in for the winning TD with over 20 seconds on the clock. They had 1st and 10 with no time outs. Had they passed they had time for all four downs. With Philip Rivers its really hard to stop 4 consecutive passes for 1 yard. Yet Anthony Lynn decided to gamble on a run. Running the ball means you only get one shot because they can't stop the clock. He actually did it twice on the goal line failing both times. People forget they also failed on a 4th and 1 run earlier in the game. That game was lost by Lynn and it's not the first game he's mismanaged to lose. He's a crap HC over his head. They win games despite him not because of him. But he was the cheapest hire they could find.

IMO they will be BK after next year if not before it. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they sold the team next year or in 2021. The Spanos family earns the title of the worst of the NFL owners.

They should sell Spanos to a Mexican drug cartel, then turn around and sell the Chargers to a businessman who has the desire and the means to move the Chargers back to San Diego.

I think it's less "trapped in hell with gods laughing at them" than a full-blown voodoo curse given by the gods. Then said gods threw them into the ninth circle of hell. Not satisfied with that, they forced Satan to drop Brutus from one of his mouths before having him chew on the Chargers until the end of time.

...Too weird?
NFL has to force out Spanos somehow and get an owner with some $ that will move the team back to SD, this has to happen

Surely he has to have grabbed some women’s asses in the 70s...

Seriously, if they move into that new stadium and barely draw 20k and most of that are opposing fans taking in the new facility... they could force a sale based an any number of small print criteria to own a team.
