So proud of how Ferragamo played in this game. Tyler has some great runs.

But that Cromwell dropped int. :headexplosion: That had pick-six all over it. We had the momentum. We were up 19-17. It would have been 26-17. And they don’t score the 73 yarder. We would have won.

I bawled when the Rams lost this game. My parents thought I had gone mental. I was 7 years old and already psycho for the Rams.

Cromwell catches and scores and we are a different franchise looking back. Still haunted by this.

Cromwell dropping that easy interception was definitely a surprise. Was so uncharacteristic of him. And Jack Youngblood despite heroically playing on that broken leg was obviously not the same player. Would've been a big factor at 100%. I know, 2 "ifs"....

Yeah this and if Rod Perry was 5'-10" instead of 5'-9". Still haven't gotten over that one :sadwalk:

Wouldn't mind a rematch in SB LIII (y)

Actually Perry missed swiping it by a hair.if you look at the pic. It wasn’t over his hand. Just a mid-timed swat.

And Bradshaw gets MVP. :cautious:

He should have had 4 picks and this ball swatted down.

I agree he miss-timed it but being an inch or two taller would of helped...

It's still tough watching this 38+ years later...:(

I remember watching this game.

Best and worst game of my life. This hurt even more than getting ripped off by Belicheat over 20 years later in the SB.

Probably because it would have been so epic given our hobbled, underdog team leaving it all on the field.

I still marvel at the 9-0 shutout we pitched against TB to get to the SB. THAT was defense, baby.

As a nine year old, my Rams fandom kicked into high gear during this one

That was also the Game that got me hooked as a Rams fan. growing up in the 70's here in kc i could never stand the chiefs they were so bad and such a joke of a franchise so i always followed the Steelers, they were my favorite as a litttle kid, they were really fun to watch,i always loved it when they beat the cowboys in both superbowls:yay: Then in junior high I saw this superbowl and EVEN THOUGH the Steelers won the game,my interest went away from the steelers and I got hooked onto the Rams and have been a Ram ever since. it was those awesome looking uniforms you see them wearing in that video that got me hooked.:yay: those are the coolest unis ever, best in the NFL ever bar none!!!! :yay:The horns on the Helmets i thought were so cool all the time. PLUS i always liked those commericals growing up hearing dodge trucks are RAM tough and you would see that Ram in my logo appear, remember those days guys?:D

The thing that made me fall in love with the Rams more than anything else though, was these road uniforms.the yellow sleeves were so unique.:help: at first i thought they were just some players who had a yellow undershirt UNDERNEATH their uniforms but when i realise they were PART of the uniform,i instantly fell in love with them all from waching THIS GAME.

That was WHY when they changed their uniform colors later on in the early 2000's.i lost complete interest in them. Had they always worn those colors they switched to i never would have become a Rams fan in the first place. Thats WHY i get so excited about the Ram games in LA now seeing the classic uniforms back.:yay: thank god they expanded to letting them use them for five home games this year PLUS the playoffs, yahoo!!!!!:yay:

I am sure that some around here dont consider me a true Rams fan for losing interest in them when they switched colors and stoped following them because of that but i dont care, again the ONLY reason I became a Rams fan in the first place was because of THIS GAME when I saw how awesome and cool looking and unique their uniforms colors were unlike any otherteam out there in the NFL. No other team stood out in their uniform colors like the Rams did. that magic they had in their uniform colors was gone when the switched.

they BETTER make them permanent again when they go into the new stadium or else.

Still too soon. Can't watch it. I had it on my DVR for years and never could hit play.
I know what you mean. I forced myself to watch the whole game for the first time last night. This version is edited pretty well. I was proud of our guys. Again.

And I said “what if...” Again.

I’ll check back with you in another 40 years Stu. Maybe we can tip a few and watch it together after the salve of the 8 Super Bowl McVay Era has taken hold.

This was the game that made me a Rams fan!! Seven years old, sat down to watch it with my dad and he asked me what team I was going for. Don't think I had ever watched an NFL football game before, and knew nothing about it, so I said the Rams, because I liked their uniforms better.

Nearly 40 years later, and I'm still a fan (of the team and the uniform).

I just turned 13. Had my "Go Rams" nerf football with me. Went to a Superbowl party of my parents friends. Other kids there all running around being crazy while the "adults" watched the game.
And me
Sat there the whole game squeezing the life out of that football!

My first thought was that if we won this game, LA/Anaheim wouldn't have let the Rams leave for St Louis. But then, Georgia didn't have the juice to get a stadium deal done, or to self build a stadium and the Lou had a Dome ready for an occupant. Our perspective of 7 straight NFC West titles would have an exclamation point at the end by beating the team of the 70's in that Super Bowl, that's for sure!

I can't press the play button. This is my favorite Rams game and highlight reel. If I hit play, I'll get stuck watching it over and over. It's like eating a chip...can't just have one!

Yeah, this was my era as well... I actually remember being crushed when they lost the 14-10 NFC Title game to the Vikes in 74' and again in 76', as well as the 37-7 drubbing by Dallas in 75'. So that is when I became a fan so by 79' it was a religion for me already at the age of 14.

Those were my favorite teams and without FA they stayed together mostly. Really would have been great for them to have finally broke through and win that SB, but alas it was not easy being a Ram fan in those days.

Of course it was much worse decades later with some of the droughts we have experienced. So to me those were the golden days even without a SB win.
