so i'm sitting here thinking about the mvp voting, and as a rams fan, i have to admit, how can matthew stafford not be in the running for mvp?

yes aaron rodgers may have the better stats, but isn't mvp related to who is the most valuable player in the nfl related to the team/ league?

sorry ram fans, if you disagree, but MS is our most valuable player hands down, and kupp is the recipient of that, and a close second...

my take is, how can arron rodgers, or tom brady win the MVP when stafford took them or the teams that took them out, both down..

he's hitting 70% of his passes with 1 INT in the PLAYOFFS....

let's hope he gets it.. he deserves it...

go rams

@sloramfan I hear you. MVP is pushed by the writers and fan pressure on said writers. He’s the Rams MVP and that’s good enough for me with a Super Bowl win.

Kupp is the most consistent player in the NFL. He's virtually unstoppable for an entire game. First and foremost teams scheme to stop him in every game. But he always has an impact. He draws so much attention that he enables OBJ and Jefferson to make plays. No QB in the NFL is as consistently impactful as Kupp. Yet they get all the attention.

But remember…a QB has to get the ball to Kupp, and the other receivers when he garnered attention…so toss up for me

Unfortunately, the voting takes place just after the season ends and before the playoffs start. So, the votes were in before Stafford took down Brady, Murray and Garoppolo.

The qb has to have some one to get open and catch the ball. Stafford had an outstanding year, but Kupp had arguably the best season ever by a wide receiver. Never seen such consistency and production by anyone, against every opponent and defense.

He's been even better in the playoffs.

Kupp just made incredible, last minute, last possession game winning plays in both the Divisional Championship and the NFC Championship games. Offhand can't think of any receiver who has ever done that either. And in the most dramatic way possible. Great plays when Rams most needed someone to step up. Could go on... six third down conversions... multiple TDs... blocking...

Just amazing, jaw dropping stuff. Certainly MVP worthy even if Stafford deserves to be in the conversation too.

Larry Fitzgerald is the only guy I recall. And unfortunately, the Cardinals defense cost him and Kurt their Super Bowl ring by blowing the lead in the final seconds.

He would have have to have been considered if the playoffs were taken into account.

I'm still flabbergasted the media shifted the narrative so far he wasn't even voted into the pro bowl. At the end of the day though, we'll see who gets the last laugh.

Stafford took himself out of the running with the string of pick 6s in November. They cast their votes for MVP before the playoffs, it's a regular season award only. I would say Cooper Kupp is the Rams MVP.

If the media is on some BS now it's how Joe Burrow has been the best QB in the playoffs. Stafford's postseason passer rating is 20 points higher than his.

Whilst Stafford has played well, no questions, his counterparts have also had good seasons.

Kupp, however, is unrivalled by any other receiver in the game.
His blocking, his decoy runs can't be ignored by defenders, his yards after the catch.
All of this is his game, no part does Stafford play.
He got the triple crown.
Such a feat is so uncommon, we all know that.
We knew he was good, but this has been a truly great season by any receivers standards.
He really is the MVP.

I'll be happy with Kupp winning MVP of the league and Stafford being the Super Bowl MVP.

I remember a lot in the media said they didn't trust Stafford in the playoffs. Said he makes too many mistakes to go with the good throws. Of the 14 playoff quarterbacks Stafford was easily the best of the bunch. He outplayed Brady. Came through in the clutch the last two games. Its nice to feel like you always have a chance at the end when Stafford is your guy.

Before this season I didn't want Stafford to win MVP because I wanted a balanced offense. Didn't want to see him throwing for 5k+ and we end up with an offense that is pass happy as F. This offense still isn't quite as good on the ground as I hoped, but it's been balanced since that losing streak in November which is what's important.

But also I want him hungry. I want him pissed and ready to shove it up everyone's ass who is questioning him by playing well. So I'm glad he didn't get any hardware this year. Go win this Super Bowl and then grow into the offense next year with greater efficiency and who knows maybe he can get that done too. But it's the championships that really matter for him IMO, those are what will completely rewrite his legacy if he can take full advantage in this window in LA.

Since it’s already been decided I thought this was about the SB mvp and I hope it’s Akers, which would mean we ran the ball all over their suspect run defense and kept the ball away from a defense that has several picks in the playoffs.
