Last night, Cardinals Rookie pitcher Michael Wacha had a no-hitter going against the Nationals. With 2 outs in the ninth, Zimmerman hit a high chopper that went off the tip of Wacha's glove. Then the short stop rushed and made a throw off line and Zimmerman got an infield single. Otherwise if he would have been about 1 inch higher he would have had a no hitter.

Man, if I would be replaying that play in my head over and over again. Probably the way Fisher does when thinking about the tackle

I watched the entire game from beginning to end, and I thought I was going to see history. Michael Wacha pitched a hell of a game; I think the only game that was better was the one that Shelby Miller pitched against Colorado. Imagine how good he'll be once he figures out how to use his curveball. That hit was just bad luck.

I also want to give some kudos to Trevor Rosenthal for the way that he pitched out of the jam. He helped get Wacha the win, which was pretty important in its own right. Other young pitchers like Kevin Siegrist, Carlos Martinez, Joe Kelly, Seth Maness, and Tyler Lyons have filled huge roles when asked to. And that's not even mentioning guys like Wainwright, Garcia, and Lynn or some of the guys in the minors (i.e., Alex Reyes, Tyrell Jenkins, Marco Gonzales, Rob Kaminsky). And I'm still not mentioning the young position players who could make an impact.

Both the present and future look incredibly bright for the Cardinals. Now we need the Rams to turn things around and a Cup for the Blues.

Was just coming here to make the same post, the picture the PD captured makes it even harder to swallow. Just a few inches lower and Wacha's forever a part of MLB history.

Gotta be a tough pill to swallow.

Kid's a dominant pitcher though, I might be overstepping in saying this, but I feel like one day he'll have that no hitter.

WOW!

Just saw this.

I've not been following baseball (other than I knew the Cardinals were playoff bound).

Hell of a game for the rookie. He's got a lot of promise.
