Not exactly the best teams so far this year. Patsies 4-2 while the Falcons are 3-2. Figures the game in Foxborough.

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-5 straight up and against the spread in their last five games against the New England Patriots including last year's collapse in Super Bowl LI. The Falcons hope to finally solve the Patriots this Sunday night on the road.

Atlanta is a 3-point road underdog in Foxborough at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. When these two teams met in the Super Bowl last year, the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the third quarter and went on to lose the game 34-28 in overtime.

Falcons at Patriots OddsShark Matchup Report

Atlanta Falcons
In what perhaps served as a fitting lead in to this game, the Falcons blew a 17-0 second half lead in last Sunday's 20-17 loss at home to the Miami Dolphins. Atlanta has seen its strong 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS start slip away with back-to-back home losses as a big favorites against Buffalo and Miami.

The Falcons will now be on the road for four of their next five games and are an underdog for the first time this season on Sunday night.

The Falcons have shown plenty of bite as a betting underdog in recent seasons with a 10-5 SU and 11-4 ATS record in their last 15 games as one per the OddsShark NFL Database.

New England Patriots
This year's Patriots team is off to a rocky start at 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS. Defensive woes continue to plague New England as the Patriots rank dead last in total defense in the league allowing 440.7 yards per game and passing defense allowing 324.8 yards per game.

This doesn't bode well going up against Matt Ryan and Atlanta's passing attack on Sunday. The Patriots have won 14 of their last 17 night games.

Sunday night's total is set at 56.5 points. The OVER is 3-1 in the last four games between New England and Atlanta.

This game features two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and fresh wounds from last year's Super Bowl. It should be a fun one for the fans and could be a long night for these two defenses. Atlanta will obviously have a big chip on its shoulder from last year, but the Patriots have one of their own with two home losses already on their record in 2017.

I'll take the Patriots tonight. With the Rams winning, we need NFC teams to lose. I want that homefield advantage.

You better bet Goff doesn't get that call. Hell, they don't even call a blatant DPI today.

10-0 Patsies. Falcons need a score before half. Hard to believe they can't move the ball.

Once I saw that bailout ref call I knew how the rest of the game would unfold.

With Aaron Rodgers out for season the NFC is WIDE OPEN. WE will play the division leaders this year in each division in Eagles,Vikes,Saints .I'm glad so when we have rematch in Playoffs Mcvay will have a better gameplan for each. How is it that each season as other divisions teams rotate to the top?We now play all of those teams that were 3RD place in their divisions last year.Kinda strange and making for a tougher second half of season. One day at a time gang.Any news on Sullivan ? Probably not till Tuesday and their back in L.A. I love our great find backup center but am hoping a miracle full season out of both Sully & Whitworth. I think I'm dreaming ya'll.Want our home stadium to be done.Collesium is classic but I want a real HFA to go with our road attack and attitude.I may not live to see it.

I hate the Patriots, but from a playoff standpoint, an Atlanta loss is better than a New England win.

The Falcons resemble the steamer my dog just unleashed at the park around the corner.

the falcons are useless. have two great rbs but won't try a single run from a yard out. ryan is such a meh qb. julio is 10 yards away and he can't put the ball out in front of him? that's like bulger at his finest, close enough is good enough.

IDK man, dude's been a 4000+ yard passer and hovers around the 30 TD mark the majority of his year.

That was just a terrible sequence on the goal, and they took way too much time to get there. A jet sweep on 4th and goal from the one...yeesh.

Steve Suckisian is whom they replaced Little Shanny with at OC. He's just not good at all.

did you see the way julio bailed him out on that td? horrible throw. should have been a yard higher and longer. he's just not playing well this season.

The falcons miss shanny and his offence so badly. Schemes mean so much in football. It’s so nice not having to worry about changing ours every year or two! (And actually having one)

It happens, WRs bail out QBs a lot. I don't understand why Matt Ryan gets so much flak, sometimes yeah he has the fuck up like every player. Overall though he's been a top QB.

Marc Bulger was just done, Matt Ryan may be having a down year. Hell, even Kurt Warner did in 2000.
