If they fail to produce, you're going to be miserable no matter what expectations you had going in.
Might as well come in guns blazin' again and experience the highest of highs when they run the tables.
Because if you go in pessimistic, and they prove you wrong, you'll just feel crappy for being a doubter.

That's all the time we have for today. Pay the receptionist and schedule your next appointment.
Well you might be right Paul, but it worked for me in 2004 (Red Sox) although admittedly I did miss the incredible rally from 0-3 vs Yanks. Like a few others here, I still think it's prudent to remain cautious and let things play out a bit, kinda let the sauces brew awhile, at least until after the 3rd preseason game. By then, I'll probably be up to my eyeballs in this thing again......it always seems to end up that way. :censored:

let us all hope this is the season when it all comes together for fisher like it did in 99.

1999 13-3
2000 13-3 10-6
2001 7-9 14-2
2002 11-5 7-9
2003 12-4

.

Fixed. Man I miss (most of) those days.....

Why isn't there an option for "I haven't a clue"?

Oh, yeah, it's a prediction thread.

I predict that before game 1, I won't have a clue.

Now... after 6 games? Then, I'll give my predictions.

I’m thinking back to 1999 and how I felt about that upcoming season. The RAMS were coming off a 4-12 season but I was full of optimism going in because of the moves the RAMS made.

Dick Vermeil was headed into his 3rd season as HC in 1999. Jeff Fisher is headed into his 4th season as HC in 2015.

Mike Martz was hired as RAMS OC in 1999. Frank Cignetti is promoted to RAMS OC in 2015.

Trent Green signed with the RAMS in 1999. Nick Foles signed with the RAMS in 2015.

RAMS Draft Torry Holt 6 overall in the 1999 NFL Draft. RAMS Draft Todd Gurley 10 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

You see were I’m going here… Yeah I'm guzzling the Kool Aid but this year seems eerily similar to 1999 IMO.

I know we don’t have a Marshall Faulk on this team (right now), Cignetti in no Martz (right now) and if Foles goes down I definitely don’t see Davis, Keenum, or Mannion as the next Warner that's for sure but again you see were I’m going here…

My answer to the question “Post OTA season prediction” I said 10-6.

I optimistically voted 10-6 but realistically, I think we can go 8-8 or 9-7. Foles should be a big upgrade at QB and that should be the big difference maker. If we start 2 rookies in the oline, there will definitely be oline woes that will cost us games. Our D is solid, I don't think we are quite a top 5 D yet as our secondary can be susceptible at times. Overall, I suspect us be competitive in all of the tough games, like last few season, but Foles will give us more wins

Not a win/lose prediction but Aaron Donald will be the best player in the league next year.

The Rams defense will keep them close and the new offense will seal the deal...10-6 or better. (y)

I voted 10-6

Right now, I have a hard time seeing wins at Arizona, Green Bay, Baltimore, Cincy, and Seattle.

That's 5 losses. Arizona, Baltimore, and Cincy will probably be "winnable" games, but I just have a hard time seeing the Rams as a team that wins road games they are supposed to lose this year.

So I suppose 9-7 would be the most realistic prediction.

On the flip side, beating Arizona and one of either Baltimore or Cincy and we could be in store for a magical season.

I will concede that ours is a difficult schedule, Frantik. No question.

But I still see every game as winnable on our schedule.

IF...

We can establish our running game.
Foles merely plays at NFL average level.
Cigs draws up lots of PA off our running threat and sprinkles in a few deeper throws.
Our D plays at the level of last year's in the second half.
Our ST plays at last year's level.

I see every single one of the above as achievable. We could even exceed a few of those without stretching ourselves too much.

So I guess I'm saying that I think we are now finally able to play with the big boys. For the first time since 2003?

Can't WAIT for this season!

10-6. We will come out and beat the hell out of the Seahawks in game 1 just because of all the ROD members at the game. (That's called logic.) After that I think the O-line is going to need some time and we'll be at 2-3 at the bye. Then Foles, Gurley and Mason hit full stride along with the O-line and we go 8-3 the rest of the way. Throw in a playoff win for good measure......

I'd love to drink the kool aid of a winning season. This team could be shaping up to be a very good team in the future. But everything they're doing looks like they know they may not be a winning team at the start.

They haven't brought in any stop gap veteran linemen in case the rookies can't keep up in the beginning. They drafted a running back who might not be ready to play for half a season. And what can we expect from him the first few games coming off that type of injury?

They could be a very good team starting in 2016 with a fully healthy Gurley and a line that has had time together. But I can't shake the feeling that even they know they might be conceding 2015.

OK Eeyore. I can't blame anyone for being pessimistic, but let's keep the record straight. Barksdale was offered a really nice package, better than what he accepted. We have no idea how many o line vets they considered or made offers to or even if they aren't still shopping.

There's not a person out there saying Gurley won't be ready for half a season. His doctor said he'll be ready by training camp. I hope they are overly cautious, but game one is quite possible. I will bet that game 6 full speed balls to the wall is a lock. Not to mention, they didn't even NEED a running back.

I don't think this will be a fast start with this schedule, but if they aren't killing teams through games 6-16, I'll be shocked. The defense is loaded for bear. They could have a winning season with an average o from what I'm seeing. And THIS time, I'm not just being a homer optimist!

We would have been 10-6 at the very least without our O-Line and especially our shit QB play ruin 4 of those losses that should have been W's..

No not that W dammit! Wins!!
