Wow, I just looked to see what he produced this season in a high flying offense. Looks a lot like what he did with the Rams. Except only 3 TD's versus 8.

40 catches for 519 yards.
13 YPC
3 TD's
52 YPG

His contract is 3 years 48MIL with 30MIL guaranteed. Ouch!

Something tells me he will be on his 4th team in six years next year.

Wasn't he out for injury a bunch this year too? He was the 5th option on this offense behind Hill, Kelce, Hunt (when he was there) and Mahomes running it

Watkins is talented but he seems to lose interest. I'm pretty happy with Cooks. The people who said he was an upgrade weren't kidding.

Watkins has really good physical tools but he appears to get nicked up all too often to where he's not available to the team. It also seems that he is never a primary target when he's in. Here, he didn't seem to ever get the play designs and players like Kupp and Woods were having to line him up when they broke the huddle. He also has the tendency to give up on plays and just not give full effort all the time.

Contrast that to Cooks - who on paper probably doesn't have the physical tools but runs great routes, knew the playbook day one, and though he was out a bit for the concussion, is ready to play most of the time and goes all out on every down.

It's easy to see why McVay wanted Cooks before we picked up Watkins. I love Cooks' play.

I'll say this, as someone who really like Sammy, I definitely admire Cooks toughness. That little dude plays relentless and gets blasted and gets up ready to go. #respect

He missed a ton of games . He wasn't lighting it up but he was on Pace for respectable numbers

I was a supporter of keeping Watkins, but even if Watkins is healthy, Cooks is hands down the better reciever.

...Hands... down.

He was actually, on pace for over 1,000 scrimmage for the season. The Chiefs had him playing a good amount of slot and he fit really well there. Their offense hasn't been the same without him or Hunt.

Yes he was. I’m not hating on Watkins and I don’t deem the injuries to be his fault. Some players just can’t seem to stay healthy.

He may have improved greatly had he stayed with us. Still, I like what we have in Cooks better.

Watkins was a very good red zone target for the Rams last year. Strong hands. If he could stay healthy he would be a decent WR#2/good WR#3.

Except when it really counted in the playoffs.

Like Deon Sanders said, “Can’t help the club from the tub”

There’s a reason why Sammy has only had 1 1,000 yard season in his career.
