I'm not sure how many of you paid attention to it, but Tony was giving our boy some mad props today. He said Jared has the traits of a great QB and in Tony's opinion has a very high ceiling.

It's one thing for some ESPN analyst who played DB in college to give praise, but an ex pro bowl QB I feel holds much more weight

He was showing how Jared keeps his weight on his back foot which allows him to deliver balls under duress very quickly and without a lot of wasted movement. Also showcased a little swing pass to Tavon with a free runner coming right at his face.

We all know he's going to be a great QB but I thought it was cool hearing another great QB highlight some things that make him a beast.

Love it as Well! Very interesting commentary by said Romo...

Us Rams Fans are blessed at the moment. So many good things happening and coming about this year that I won't even start the list. Sure is helping to make up for the past decade of adnauseum.

Not surprised, I knew that Goff's footwork (or Manning feet) is one of his key strengths that allows him to reposition quickly to make quality throws coming into the draft. Was a pleasant experience listening to Romo fanboy over it.

Romo sees what the people who watch this team every week see. We have our guy for the next decade plus.

You know what gets me even more randy... Jared Goff is taking HUGE STEPS GAME TO GAME. Jared Goff today was better than the Jared Goff that played the Vikings last week. Jared Goff vs the Cardinals will be better than the one that played the Saints. And so on and so on until we meet either the Steelers or Patriots in the Super Bowl.

The thing is: will Jared Goff against the Eagles be better than Carson Wentz at that time? I always thought Jared had the higher ceiling even though Carson had the better earlier pro level foundation. However, Jared is growing so fast he is rapidly closing in on Carson's earlier edge. I expect Jared to surpass Carson next season for sure, but he may even do it this very season.

He has an inner competitiveness that gets me pretty excited. Like how we almost beat Seattle last second on those insane couple throws.

But Romo also said how much Goff controls at the line is impressive for a 2nd year QB. He said it's the most he's seen since Peyton's 2nd year. I've thought the same honestly, he's done a ton at the line this year which leads me to believe he's understanding defensive looks on a whole other level now.

I'm so glad Goff is getting the praise he deserves for his year 2 turn-around. Props to him, McVay, LaFleur and everyone around him. But also thanks must be given to Fisher and Snead for making that ballsy trade that (at the time) I hated.

Yeah, Romo highlighted the footwork thing by first using highlights from a previous game and then did the same for the Reynolds TD throw. He couldn't have been more complimentary and, like OP says, coming from him carries loads more weight.

AHHHH YES. How often have the announcers shown their man-crush for a player on the opposite team? I remember turning the volume down as they GUSH on and on (and on and on) about some player. Aaron Brooks, Tom Brady, Steve Young blah blah blah
Finally one of our players gets a little love from these fickle announcers.

Watching the game yesterday with my wife (she's very football savvy) she commented on how great Goff looked and my reply was, "So does that kid in Philadelphia." In which my wife stated, "Do you remember the girl you dated before me?" And being savvy myself, I quickly replied "No Honey." Then she quipped..."So forget about the QB in Philadelphia."

I thought Romo's comments during the game were very good and informative. I was just so relived when I turn the game on and someone else was doing the game other than that idiot Collingsworth.

Philly radio is still insane with the Eagles being unbeatable...

This clown, (@AnthonyLGargano ) who hosts a morning show in Philly, talked how he was looking forward to the Rams game, and playing against that "spindly legged QB" Then said he hopes they break his legs. Classy

let him and his show have it people..

I've thought the same as well but have been afraid to say that comparison. Romo said it though. Do we have the next Peyton Manning? Sure hope so!

This is the part of Goff's game that gets me stoked. Most NFL QBs have arm talent.....thats why their in the NFL. What I love about Goff is between the ears. That is what makes a QB consistently great is the mental part of the game. Reading the defense, processing what the D is showing at the line and anticipating.

5 INTs in 11 games. That is great! Dont even care about the other stats. He is making good decisions already at this stage of his career and its not like he has "gotten away" with many bad decisions.

I honestly dont think we have even seen 65% of his ceiling. This is a player still learning. He is only 23 and calling plays at the line not allowing defenses to make substitutions. Think about that.....

At this^ rate, the Jared Goff who meets the Cards Next week will be Drastically better than the Jared Goff who " Whipped them" 33-0 in London!! " THINK TOTAL DEVASTATION!!"

Goff's feet in the pocket are something I've only ever seen on Peyton Manning. Just insane.

Pocket awareness is awesome.

But the thing that I was most impressed with from yesterdays game...McVay came up with the game plan to pass pass pass - Goff had a great game, made the dagger throw to Sammy (good defensive play but Sammy has to catch it), was under pressure a lot and Goff still carried us to victory.
