I stated I was going to review each play that Robinson would do against the 49ers. I also decided to look at the running plays too just to see if I could see what the problem is. It appears the 49ers stacked the line of scrimmage frequently with 10 guys within 5 yards. Hard to block that many guys.

They played extremely aggressive Monday night.

I am just doing the first series for now.

Warning - this is a big post

Ist Series

Play 1
Akers runs right and appears to have a little hole if he cuts left. But for some reason he ran right into everyone to the right. Note – it becomes an even bigger opening as Jackson pushes his guy to the right.
He did this later as well where I thought he could cut left.

Play 2
Stafford quick hitter to Kupp to the right. Designed play. Robinson was open too.

Play 3
Akers to the right of center of again. I know it’s tough but if he could have cut hard to the left he had a bit of an opening to gain a few yards. He got 1 on this play.

Play 4
Stafford to Higbee over the middle after a delay. Almost appears as if Robinson was a decoy to the right since he didn’t even try to get open.

Play 5
Stafford to Kupp over the middle. Robinson got open late on this play. Kupp did his turn a split second before Robinson made his turn. He would have been open too.

Play 6A
Due to heavy rush, Stafford scrambles for a few yards. Robinson ran into his guy who fell down on the play. If Stafford had been looking up while running he would have seen Robinson was wide open. Stafford isn’t too good running with the ball and looking to pass.

Play 6B
This one appears to be Noteboom looking to help Higbee and Evans decided to not block anyone and Noteboom tried to recover late but the guy got past him.

Play 7
Stafford screen pass to Kupp. Appears that Robinson was completely a decoy because he only took two steps on this play.

Play 8
Stafford rolls out to right and throws short to Higbee. Robinson is completely covered on this play.

Play 9
49ers had a billion guys within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage on this play. Akers didn’t have a chance.

Play 10
Stafford short pass to Higbee to the right. Stafford didn’t even look at Robinson to his left who had a step on his guy which Stafford could have made a tough throw near the sideline to complete. But Higbee was open so….

Play 11
False start on Noteboom but Evans moved first which caused Noteboom to step back.
Play 12
Stafford short/screen pass to Henderson to the left. Maybe Robinson was getting open but it would have been a tough throw to make.

Play 13
Stafford sacked on this play. Robinson was not open over the middle.
Not sure what Noteboom was doing on this play. He went outside and his guy went inside.
And Blanton did not slow down his guy at all and Skowrenek could not recover in time to block the guy who eventually got the sack on Stafford.

Play 14
Henderson delayed run for 8 yards. 3rd and forever so this was just to get closer for a FG
Play 15
Gay kicks FG (Kupp and Gay for MVP this year)
