Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III unveiled a new logo, which has "RG3" in it, on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday.

"This wouldn't be possible without the love and support of my family, friends and fans growing up," Griffin said. "This is for us and represents all of the work the people around me put in to help me succeed in life."

Griffin is the fourth adidas endorser to have his own logo. Soccer star Lionel Messi, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose and Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard are the others.

"Robert Griffin III is one of few athletes who transcends style on and off the field," said Jeremy Darlow, adidas senior brand and digital marketing manager. "His first signature cleat recently launched at retail, and adidas plans to continue to bring his style and personality to life in footwear, apparel and accessories."

As part of Griffin's endorsement deal with adidas, the shoe and apparel company sublicenses phrases from Griffin's company, Thr3escompany LLC. The company applied for patents to phrases including "Go Catch Your Dream" and "Unbelievably Believable," a phrase that Griffin used in his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech in 2011.

sure is putting a lot of pressure and a huge spot light on himself. better live up to the hype is I will say.

Well, financially he should be soaking as much of it up as possible while he can. In a couple years when he blows up his knee again he won't be able to cash in like he is now.

It's obnoxious, but I can't knock the guy for marketing himself and cashing in on his opportunities.
 
I think the colourful socks were the first sign of his attention needs / insecurity.

The logo... Brady, Manning, Brees, etc. would never do this. Sam either. It's just... Not what you want out of a team leader.

When times get tough, let's see how this plays out for BobGme.

Yeah I guess you're right, if I had people standing line to hand over stacks of cash, I take it and run too.
