Demoff and Snead are very astute businessmen. I believe that they are playing this game like no other front office has ever done before. A few suggestions on any of the teams fans boards and one can create whatever strawman you want within a team's fanship.

False flags, misdirection and who knows what actions they skillfully have used the press for their own devices.

I have the same hunch that they are playing the press like a fine violin.
