Have to say, i'm very surprised that this is going to be a home game. When i asked Kevin Demoff about this subject in his ROD Q&A, he said that the organisation would love to come back to London, but do it as an away game. Not sure how much say they really have as to that aspect of it(being home or away), but surprising nonetheless.

KD also made some interesting comments about the team bonding over the London trip, so hopefully this will be a positive experience for the team.

I would guess that with air travel, hotel and tickets, meals, taxis, etc, it will be a bit trendy price-wise...More so if you live on the west coast like me...Even more for air fares..I was in England a couple of times playing softball when I was in the service...I would love to visit again...Some ass hat people, but many more nice ones...Not at all like the snobbish, bores of Paris...

when the wife and I went in 2012...10 days..the whole trip cost us about 3k...and we took a bus trip to Bath and Stonehenge. We hit Groupon for restaurant coupons, and also had a friend pick us up at the airport and show us the sights off the beaten path. The tube is a great way to get around, and it didn't take wifey and I long to figure out the routes and stops.

yeah it was alot to spend on a football game, but we had been saving for a trip overseas anyway, and everything just fell together easily.

To be serious for a minute, and as much as it's good for the supporters over here, I really don't think any games should be played out of America. That's just my opinion. The Rams home, for the time being, is St. Louis and that's where the home games should be played.ont get me wrong I'll go along to the game and hopefully really enjoy it, but it does still seem wrong.

Just out of interest, if you are a season ticket holder next season, do you get a discount as you lose a home game?

I might be wrong, but I think they were charged for 9 (2 preseason) home games and season ticket holders were given the option of buying a Wembley game ticket before they were released to the public for sale.

I don't get it. I thought this violated their lease and the NFL knows it. I'd be fine with if it was an away game. Furious!!!

What I'll say is this. Twickenham is a great stadium and might be better suited to football than Wembley because of its rugby use. It is however a nightmare to get back from into central London. There is usually only one station and everyone has to stand around waiting for the overcrowded train. There are however some good pubs about if you want to wait a bit.

I'd actually recommend booking a cab beforehand and have it pick you up somewhere close rather than wait for that train.

2016 UK INTERNATIONAL SERIES GAMES CONFIRMED:

SCHEDULE FEATURES THREE GAMES, A NEW STADIUM, AT LEAST THREE NEW TEAMS

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS vs. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
NFC EAST OPPONENT vs. ST. LOUIS RAMS
WASHINGTON REDSKINS vs. CINCINNATI BENGALS

Three games. A new stadium. At least three new teams.

Those are among the highlights of the 2016 UK International Series schedule as the NFL will reward its incredible UK fans for their passion and support by adding a new stadium experience at Twickenham and feature at least three teams that have not previously played a regular-season game in London.

The JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS will host the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS in an AFC South division matchup in Week 4 on Sunday, October 2, at Wembley Stadium; in Week 7 on Sunday, October 23, in the first-ever NFL game at Twickenham Stadium, the ST. LOUIS RAMS will host the NFC East team that finishes in the same spot in the standings as the Rams do in the NFC West based on the NFL’s scheduling formula; and in Week 8 on Sunday, October 30, the CINCINNATI BENGALS will play their first international game when they host the WASHINGTON REDSKINS at Wembley.

The formula for the second game means that the Rams will face either the Philadelphia Eagles making their first regular-season trip to the UK, the Dallas Cowboys or New York Giants making return visits, or Washington becoming the first team to play in consecutive weeks in London.

“The passion our UK fans have shown for the NFL is overwhelming,” said NFL CommissionerROGER GOODELL. “We are very appreciative of the strong and growing fan support, not only for the games, but for all of the related NFL events we host in the UK throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming new fans to their first NFL game in 2016 and welcoming back thousands of others that are helping our sport grow to new levels of popularity in London and beyond.”

The game times and a possible additional International Series game outside of the UK will be announced at a later date.

The 2016 UK International Series schedule:

The Jaguars will return to London for a fourth consecutive year. Jacksonville first committed to playing a home game in the UK in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, all at Wembley, and last month extended that commitment through 2020. The Jaguars will play their first division game in London when they host the Colts, a first-time participant in the International Series.

The St. Louis Rams will return to London for the first time since 2012 when they play host to an NFC East opponent based upon the order of finish in the 2015 regular-season standings.

The Bengals will play the first game in franchise history beyond the borders of the United States when they host Washington. The AFC North leaders have qualified for the playoffs in each of the past four seasons.

Washington may play in consecutive weeks in London in 2016, depending on the final standings. At minimum, they will face the Bengals in Week 8. Washington will play in London in 2016 for the first time since a 1992 preseason American Bowl game at the old Wembley Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers.

At the conclusion of the 2016 season, either 23 or 24 teams will have played in London since the inception of the International Series in 2007. Since that time, the NFL has achieved accelerated growth in the UK. Sunday viewership of NFL games has more than doubled and the Super Bowl audience has increased more than 75 percent. The league also has developed new and stronger business partnerships and, according to internal research, has a UK fan base of more than 13 million.

Participation in amateur football in the UK has risen by approximately 15 percent per year since 2007, with the latest figures showing that 40,000 people age 16 or older play regularly.

A look at the 14 previous International Series games played at London’s Wembley Stadium:

The Jaguars are giving up a home game against a divisional opponent? If you want to be a bad franchise that is the move you make. If I were a Jags fan I would be absolutely livid.

As a Rams fan I think it's absolutely bogus to lose a home game. If the Chargers and Raiders are the teams that are picked to go to LA, are you really going to try and build goodwill with your fan base and make them give up a home game? Likewise of the Rams go to LA, are you going to short change your brand new fan base who hasn't had a team in over 20 years? It makes zero sense when it comes to serving the fans. It makes even less sense from a competitive advantage. it really is poor ownership at its finest. Any owner that would give away a home game for more money doesn't care about the team's health or about the fan base.

The game isn't until next year she has time to ruin your chance to see the Rams again
if she falls pregnant after my snip during the summer, we'll have to have words ;)

But in all fairness, she's really excited, wants me to take our 2 year old boy to the game :) RESULT!

Why does Stan do this and give up a home game? More $$ in his pocket and he doesn't give a crap what the fans think about it.

I agree with previous poster who thinks this is an early indication that they will still be in STL next year. I highly doubt that they would take a home game away from LA in their first season.
doesn't he also own Arsenal FC?

I think it's bogus to give up one of your 8 home games to play overseas unless every other team gives up one of theirs too.
It should be classed as an away game for both parties IMO.

Agre with both statements..especially for the Rams, have obviously struggled mightily...Losing a home game can't do anything but make the path more uphill...Away for both teams seems far more fair...But then, wouldn't it screw 2 other teams ???

I'm sure theres a way of working it out, If you have 4 teams playing in the UK I think it could work - I'll try and work it out once I get my head straight!

Tubsy, it's south west London.

Trains go out of Waterloo
Tubsy. Now that is an awesome name for a city. We ripped off all the other English cities names. I propose the bland "City of Industry" name here in So Cal to now & forever be known as "New Tubsy."

On the bright side, if we play in London week 7, that means we will have a week 8 bye week!
