Stacked sequentially from higher to lower (LA has an astonishing *SEVENTEEN* first/second round picks combined on the roster - a significant number the fruits and legacy of the 2012 RG3 trade, perfectly positioning Fisher and Snead to execute the massive trade up for Goff in 2016):

[Thought this might be instructive for a few reasons, being able to see at a glance what positions have been prioritized, is there an offense/defense imbalance?]

QB Jared Goff - 1.1
LT Greg Robinson - 1.2
WLB Mark Barron - 1.7
WR/PR Tavon Austin - 1.8
RB Todd Gurley - 1.10
DT Aaron Donald - 1.13
DE Robert Quinn - 1.14
DT Michael Brockers - 1.14
DE Quinton Coples - 1.16
MLB Alec Ogletree - 1.30
WR Kenny Britt - 1.30
LG/OT Rodger Saffold - 2.1
WR Brian Quick - 2.1
SLB Akeem Ayers - 2.7
CB/FS? Lamarcus Joyner - 2.9
TE Lance Kendricks - 2.15
RT Rob Havenstein - 2.25
CB Trumaine Johnson - 3.1
RG Jamon Brown - 3.8
SS T.J. McDonald - 3.9
WR Stedman Baily - 3.29 (career over?)
DE William Hayes - 4.4
CB Coty Sensabaugh - 4.20 (sticky icky pedigree :) )
K Greg Zuerlein - 6.1
CB E.J. Gaines - 6.12
QB Case Keenum - UFA
C Tim Barnes - UFA
P Johnny Hekker - UFA

FS (?)

Day One & Two Breakdowns

First Round - 5 O, 6 D (ALL but Coples starters)
Second Round - 4 O, 2 D (Saffold, Kendricks and Havenstein starters, Ayers is technically though on field less than 50%, Joyner nickel back more than 50%, Quick MAYBE WR3 could be future starter or out of the league depending on shoulder rehab)
Third Round - 2 O, 2 D (TruJo and McDonald half of secondary starters, Brown starting G, Bailey???)

What WAS wrong with this picture department pre-draft? Most important position on the field on either side of the ball, QB = UFA non-pedigree

Concentration of draft capital resources (Barron acquired in trade for 2015 fourth and sixth round picks, Hayes, Britt and Ayers all former TEN free agents)

Front seven has a ridiculous five first round picks (four top half of the first round - Tree the slacker and laggard at a paltry end of the first 1.30

)
Secondary has two relatively high thirds in TruJo and McDonald
OL has a high first (1.2), high second (2.1), another second (2.25) and a high third, plus TE a mid-second (only C humble, modest UFA pedigree)
Skill positions, with Goff a first round and #1 overall QB in 2016 for first time since Bradford in 2010), three top 10 overall picks in Austin (1.8) and Gurley (1.10), Britt a low first and Quick a high second, Kendricks as alluded to above a mid-second, Tre "Taser" Mason, if he is still the backup RB with Cunningham possibly moving on, was 3.11

* Just cut or allowed to walk

Chris Long - 1.2
James Laurinaitis - 2.3
JJ (#clampbong) - 2.7
Jared Cook - 3.25
Rodney McLeod - UFA

The above pedigree list overlaid with (2016) age data, and incorporates the latest draft picks.

What we have is a confluence of a high percentage of first and second round pedigree picks, as well as youth.

Other than the K, 31 year old DE Hayes the only player in the starting 22 on offense and defense (not sure if Joyner is the FS, any other candidates on our roster would also probably be relatively young - if we sign Donte Whitner, he also turns 31 in '16) over 28. MOST of the nucleus seems to be in the 25-27 range, with Gurley, Robinson, Havenstein, Brown (60% of the OL), Gaines and of course the class of '16 even younger. If they get them signed en masse, as they appear to be budgeting more for their own players rather than from the outside in free agency, they should have a chance to grow together and get better for the next 3-5 years (hopefully longer for Gurley). And of course they continued to stream in new talent via the draft, and there will be future free agent cycles (Hayes, Britt, Ayers and the latest ex-Titan Sensabaugh - Finnegan and Cook failed here, etc.) and trades (Barron) if they present themselves. That said, not a lot of outside free agents on the roster, and the handful there are/were, from insular, almost in-bred origins (nearly exclusively TEN, maybe Fisher needs to expand his horizons occasionally). Come to think about it, in recent years, the Rams probably haven't been the most illustrious destination, so maybe it isn't an accident nearly all of the free agents (among the exceptions early OL signings Jake Long of MIA and Scott Wells of GB ) came from TEN, probably they had a personal relationship with Fisher and/or DC Gregg Williams?
