Morning Ram-blings: Niners getting healthy
By Nick Wagoner

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- While the St. Louis Rams are dealing with a half dozen injuries coming out of Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, their next opponent just spent the bye week relaxing and getting healthy.

The San Francisco 49ers watched Sunday as the Rams lost key contributors at nearly every position. In the meantime, the Niners look poised to get some of their key players back, though it won't be in time for this Sunday's game against the Rams.

Niners reporter Paul Gutierrez reported Monday that running back Marcus Lattimore is set to begin practicing with San Francisco on Wednesday. Lattimore will then open a 21-day window where he can be activated to the roster.

Of a more pressing note is the potential return of defensive end Glenn Dorsey. Dorsey began practicing with the team on Monday but he also has a window to return that isn't yet open.

The one with the most interest pertains to linebacker Aldon Smith, who was suspended for nine games. There have been rumors of a potential reduction in that suspension that could put him back on the field this week.

Regardless, the Niners figure to be in much better shape than the Rams heading toward next Sunday's game.
