Davin Joseph’s free-agent visit to St. Louis in mid-March was unlike any other. Rodger Saffold, the man Joseph potentially would replace as the Rams’ right guard, was in Oakland wrapping up his new deal with the Raiders at the time.

With outside expectations of his team elevated significantly from when he took over as head coach in 2012, Jeff Fisher was cautious against reading too far into the team’s OTA workouts.

For all their effort in recent NFL Drafts, the Rams remain the No. 4 team in the NFC West and a long shot to make the playoffs under the current format.

Observations From St. Louis Rams’ Final OTA –Wagoner
The St. Louis Rams wrapped up organized team activities with their ninth and final practice Thursday. For those keeping score at home, yes, that’s a day earlier than expected; coach Jeff Fisher canceled Friday’s previously planned practice.

Rams Wrap-Up OTA Practices, Head for Summer Break –PD
The Rams closed their spring OTA experience with a “flourish,” with the team’s offensive and defensive linemen engaging in a punt-catching competition. Suffice it to say, Tavon Austin’s return job is not in jeopardy. Even so, the big guys did better than expected.

Rams Rookie Greg Robinson’s Move To OG A Work in Progress –Wagoner
At a time of year when nearly every NFL player is said to be making some sort of progress, “ahead of schedule,” and/or in the best shape of his life, St. Louis Rams rookie offensive lineman Greg Robinson is frustrated and he’s not afraid to say it.

Morning Ram-blings: A Receiver Mirage? –Wagoner

    Morning Ram-blings: Programming note
    By Nick Wagoner

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Now that organized team activities are over and the St. Louis Rams have wrapped up their offseason program, it means the players and coaches will head their separate ways for the better part of the next month.

It also means a little down time for yours truly. While there will still be new content here every day, I'll be going off the grid for a couple of weeks before returning to get back on the grind in the time leading up to training camp. The Ram-blings will return at that time, also.

I will, however, be participating in one more chat before then and you can join in with whatever questions you might have on the Rams or anything else by submitting questions now and/or joining me when we go live at 1 p.m. ET.

    I.C.Y.M.I.

A roundup of Thursday's Rams stories appearing on ESPN.com. ... In the Ram-blings, we began the day with a look at the potential free-agent receiver class of 2015. ... Next, we explored the transition of rookie offensive lineman Greg Robinson as he goes from tackle to guard. ... From there, we offered the opinion that the Rams should honor quarterback Kurt Warner much as the Arizona Cardinals are on Sept. 8. ... Finally, we finished with a final observation from the team's last OTA of 2014.

    Elsewhere:

Cardinals reporter Josh Weinfuss writes that Warner's spot in the Cardinals Ring of Honor is well deserved.

Unrelated to the Rams but a good read from Pat Yasinskas on the football journey of Bucs quarterback Josh McCown.

At stltoday.com, Joe Lyons writes that the Rams have high hopes for their special teams in 2014.

Jeff Gordon explores how the Rams can catch up in the NFC West with a little help from the salary cap.
