Los Angeles Rams: NT Sebastian Joseph-Day

The Los Angeles Rams expressed little interest in re-signing Ndamukong Suh.

Instead, the Rams will rely on a rookie and second-year holdover at nose tackle. This year's fourth-round pick, Greg Gaines, is an important component to the Rams' defensive interior. Yet, last year's 195th overall pick, Sebastian Joseph-Day, grew and improved throughout his first campaign and now has a chance to claim the starting job.

"I think especially Sebastian Joseph-Day has really stepped up," defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said, per Cameron DaSilva of USA Today's Rams Wire. "We thought he had potential last year, he kept working at it through the year. He's a real strong, powerful guy inside, so he's stepped in there and looked good this spring, so we’re looking forward to him coming through the second year, too."

Joseph-Day doesn't have to be Suh; he just needs to take some pressure off Aaron Donald.

I thought it was going to be Greg Robinson again.

Because...
you know....

he's right on the verge of a breakthrough season.

Excited to see what SJD can do, but it all rides on Brian Allen for me. In Kromer I trust though!

Not as concerned with Brian Allen seems to be a plug and play guy and Sullivan's play was starting to falter, however, did not like seeing new LG Joseph Noteboom in a Red Jersey during OTA's. Rams and we as fans have enjoyed a healthy offensive line for the most part the last two years and obviously I'm hoping for the same thing.

IMO, this will be an excellent rotation with Gaines and many penciled in Gaines as the starter at NT, but come September Morn, IMO, the man who will set atop the Nose Tackle Depth Chart will be none other than the former Scarlet Night of Rutgers in Sebastian Joseph-Day, because he's a bad man!

Yep, we have had a very unusual run with the lack of injuries in the OL the last two seasons. There is a sure connection to the high amount of Ram wins.

Wonder if the Rams are being very careful with him due to his high importance to the present & future Ram OL? I would think not. Must be to an injury or an offseason surgery of any type unrelated to football.

Most likely and both the Rams & Noteboom said it was precautionary, however, Saffold might have been the best and most consistent Offensive Linemen over the last couple of years and I do believe in Boom, I think he will hold up well at LG and be the starter at LT come 2020, but still did not like seeing number 70 in a Red Jersey as I believe those jersey's are for Quarterback's only.

Funny I just commented in the Peko thread about the youth of Gains and SJD.

"I think especially Sebastian Joseph-Day has really stepped up," defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said, per Cameron DaSilva of USA Today's Rams Wire. Sounds like Wade was asked who has shown improvement or stood out this off season. Glad to here Wade give a big vote of confidence to SJD. Sounds like Wade is counting on him making an impact at NT. All the info points to SJD working hard and being ready to get significant playing time this year. I've been on board for awhile now that SJD will step up this season for the Rams.

As stated in another thread we are loaded in the NT dept now, which is nice compared to years past.

I have to remind myself this guy is on the team. Ready to see what he can do in the preseason.

Seems like he had the sack-fumble down pat. I saw a couple of long loop around sacks. He's basically Robert Quinn. But seriously he does look good there against some decent teams (I think; I don't watch college football).

Can't wait to see what he haves to offer this season! I think come the 5-7 week he's going to start pouring it on for us.
How wtf am I typing? Need to proof read myself! Smh ‍♂️ I sound like an illiterate hillbilly.
