IIRC, Bruce never had hammy issues again. I always wondered if winning had anything to do with his ability to keep his hammys healthy. But as I've grown older/wiser it seems rediculous to question Bruces character.

Perhaps the way Vermeil dealt with it in '99, combined with the results of winning make Bruce rethink his approach to practice/preseason.

I hate how our boy Kupp is injured...I hope this is a lie...I'd rather he just rest. What is it with rookie wr's and getting injured after catching a few passes?

Do you remember a player named Isaac Bruce ?
Yeah but I was very young. What's the story

Well basically he played for the Rams back in the mid 70's.
Had loads of potential. Hammy blew up one day on the practice field.
Nobody's heard from him since.rumor has it he hit it off with some
Choctaw chick and they are running a taco stand in front of one of the casino's out in Oklahoma.
Pass the bong.

They gotta play Quinn eventually........don't they?

I thought for sure he would get reps this week. Seems risky waiting to opening game to play him.

How much has he practiced? Anyone

The 2 practices I attended he was playing in both :) I'm thinking they just want him healthy, and he will be good to go.

He was drive down 91 fwy his Rookie year in The OC on just his front rim on one side .

-- Well Sammy Watkins should be fun to watch. The Rams finally got it right after all these years.

Did you see Sammy on that 3rd down catch ??

I think Sammy is the biggest element for the offense in this game. Hoping he's comfortable with the scheme and concepts and has good understanding, because if he does they shouldn't miss a beat with Kupp removed from the equation.

Also I'd like to see a little more TE involvement. Higs needs to demonstrate that he deserves that starting job, and Everett needs to get more looks, as game 4 will be very few snaps for the starters. If McVay doesn't like what he sees with Higs then he needs to sign Gary Barnidge.

Well, I think it depends on how much they actually gameplan. We've noted that Sammy is still learning the offense so that may hinder the production overall. But, I personally don't think they will skip a beat because of Cooper's ability as well. He fits in the slot very well too just like Kupp. IMO, he's just as big of the offense this particular week as anyone.

Agreed on the usage of the TE. I think that Everett will eventually be the starter over Higbee but I'm really stoked to see how McVay uses both of them.

I don't think that the Rams would be looking to sign Barnage or anyone else when they have Harkey.

I would think that Quinn will be eased in wk #1 as a designated edge pass rusher. I would looked to see him playing on either side (Weak/Strong) either in the base defense or the Nickel four 3 pt stance DL. I would expect to see Barwin/Longacre as the starting OSLB'ers. I just don't see Quinn playing full time early this season & with the way that Longacre has been playing its not a big need
Nickell they're protecting since he is a key guy they'll be depending on this season. Same with Quinn and Webster. Kupp is ready for the season, no need to risk him any further as he is a key offensive piece.

Tavon I still think is being dangled for trade. Still believe there's a good chance he'll be moved. He has yet to do a damn thing with this staff on the actual field and show what he can do or how he fits, so for me that has to be considered against the fact that his drawbacks (poor hands and route running) are not fits for this offense.

Barron it's hard to say. Never did like the projection for him to play inside in this defense. He is a freelancer and seems to suffer when he has to think at all or play within a disciplined approach. I don't think he's a fit in this defense so maybe they're exploring trades for him or trying to get him where he needs to be mentally, similar to Tavon. Both might be kept around this season being well paid but not necessarily good fits for this regime, but if so it might be because the Rams couldn't find a good trade partner.
We agree on the value of NRC & why he is getting some protection. The injury to Webster would have heightened the value of NRC even more Merlin.

On TA's injury & surgery on that wrist earlier that caused him to miss the early practice then the Hammy injury that has kept him out of all of Training camp & now Rams are going into the 3rd pre season game & TA is still out.....Can't imagine that he would attract any drive bye looks from any serious NFL team with his price tag.. He would be no better than the Rams 5th or 6th receiver IMO.

I have no ideal what up with Barron & what kind of injury he has had thru out TC & all of pre season. If he is healthy wk 1 he will be just fine playing ISLB.

You lost me when you went with Gary Barnidge.

What about Hemmingway ? Come on Man !!

You don't want to loose your man card.

I think Higbee needs to step up , but please trust the process. The head coach has always valued the TE position, & he is not worried at all.

Vermiel switched up his hardcore training camps with less physical ones. It was reported that before that the whole team would be beat up before week 1. I heard marshall fualk tell a story, one the 1st day of practice he got a handoff and a couple of ayers tackled like it was gameday. I believe he said it happened again and the 3rd time he stopped the play and told vermeil he cant practice like that.

Your idea on Wuinn comes from Where ?? I agree maybe less reps , only because of what he brings on passing downs & how well his back ups are playing .

I don't think you get it both ways though ? If he is coming & lining up in totally different positions, then where is the proof & why has he not done any of it
During training camp ??

With Barron -- Wade loves him a lot !! Yes he truly loves Barron !! He talked about him very early & McVay just talked about him being ready day one & they know what he can do.

Aaron Donald missing time is not all that big of a deal. The scary thing from McVay saying if he comes in , & not when he comes in. McVay is a deep thinker & always try's to choose his words carefully.

Did you see like photo 25 of Jamon Brown???
http://m.therams.com/

I think his confidence is builds , & I wouldn't want to stand in his way !!

Most rookie WR's hit a wall at some point in their rookie year. Could be a calculated decision to sit Kupp for a couple weeks.

I trust McVay and his process. My point is there are 2 games for our TE group to raise the bar and I want to see it.

If not, then I would have Barnige come in for a look. He is a solid vet at the position.

That's like playing fantasy football. The latter will never happen.

Truth is The Rams have some talented young TE's . I remember when everyone would get upset at that Ernie conwell from Washington , The Rams drafted Roland.from Syracuse. They were pretty good.
This group will be solid for a few years at the least Z

Wade's scheme is all about reacting and attacking the football. It's why it's so successful in Year 1. Players don't have to think much. They just play. What you described in Barron fits this defense well.

Nah. Austin has a hamstring injury. I remember danario alexander ehrn he had hammy injuries. He'd always rush to get back want then the hammy would tweak. Hammy's aren't to be taken lightly so mcvay is just playing it safe with him. Idk what's going on with Barron

Dude, TA's hammies are 1/3 the length of Danario Alexander's. He'll be fine.

Except he's undersized considerably and has lingering shoulder issues.
