McVay now has a press agent?

It’s a bigger Scope than that. Could go a different direction with it, but ?

The Rams(Mcvay) have a couple new coaches that should help continue the next MAN UP slogan. Can P.R. that!! Zach Witherspoon as assistant strength guy ? Just to pump it up !! For starters

Benoit isn't a press agent, he's a football guy and a very smart one. I really like this move, as it gives another set of eyes to McVay, someone who's very analytical who can watch from a different vantage point and provide valuable feedback.

Shit, I was hoping we can win 7 Super Bowls in the next 2 decades hiring a video tape assistant to ' tape cheerleaders every regular and post season week" and only getting slapped losing a few draft picks and Stan being fined and sent home to watch in his mansion for a season.

Interesting decision. Certainly outside the box.

Considering McVay's astounding success of turning Staley into an upcoming head coach thanks to his background of reading a defense differently, I'm pretty optimistic with Benoit turning into a reliable member of our coaching staff with his unique insight.

Agree. Very easy for things to get hazy when your inside the situation.
Now he has a outside looking in feedback. Like you said VERY SMART.

He's already listed in the directory:

Using outsiders to be analysts (er, "regular sounding board and researcher") is nice and all. Saban's been doing it for years. I just wish the Rams had more. No, don't get Chris Simms, add someone good.

Hasn't Bilicheet had his own football "savant" for years?

That's how I see this hire.

Except Ernie Adams real talent was a photographic memory. He could watch tape (legal or not) of other teams and permanently remember things like defensive signals then radio them to coaches.

Kinda like when Mike Martz hired Bernie Miklasz as his food taster (only to fire him 2 weeks later over a dispute about how much food constitutes a “taste”).
